I actually can’t believe it is the last week of the Best of beauty blog challenge. I have really enjoyed taking part in this challenge, as it gave me something new to write about every week. A huge congratulations to Samantha from All The Buzz for organising such a successful challenge. You need to go and check out her blog straight away.
This weeks topics is the Best of Beauty Bloggers. I have been reading beauty blogs for a long time now. I actually very rarely buy a new makeup product without checking if some of my favourite bloggers have already reviewed it.
One of the main things I look for in a blogger is honesty. There are far too many bloggers out there, that rave about everything, for me I want a blogger to tell the reader what they are really thinking and not what they think the PR companies want them to tell the reader.
Lovley Girlie bits is one of the blogs I have been reading the longest and definitely one of my favourites. It is run by Karen and her sister Joanne, two beauty obsessed Dubliners. The blog is full of all things beauty related and even the odd slimming world recipe. I love how Karens blog posts are laced with humour, she is actually hilarious.
I really trust Karen’s reviews, as she always tells it like it is. She gives the 2 sides of every product that she reviews and has been a huge contributor to my fairly large makeup collection. Speaking of makeup collections, you need to watch this youtube video of hers. I was in absolute awe watching it and may have gasped a number of times.
Next up is Dolly Rouge. This is another blog that I have been reading for a very long time whose reviews I trust completely. It is run by two friends Kat and Rachelle. Kat has a science background, so if something is not good for your skin, she is going to make sure that you know about it. They have recently branched out into YouTube and I have found myself lusting after Kat’s eyeshadows. Her eye makeup always looks unreal.
Another blogger who I really admire is the Makeup Monster. She is some woman for telling it like it is. I love how her blog posts are completely honest and full of details. She is also a great support for bloggers.
Emma Sheehan runs The Ordinary girls guide to mastering her makeup. Emma’s blog started around the same time as mine and it has been a great source for finding out different ways to do your makeup. Emma has gone on many one on one lessons with makeup artists, as well as classes, to find out the best way for applying your makeup. One of my favourite things about Emma’s blog is, she just puts herself out there to show you how a product works. She doesn’t care what people think and seems to see the good in everything and everyone. There are so many of her blog posts that I have read and literally said ” good on ya girl “. Her love for makeup as well as her honesty really shines through in her blog.
The final blog that I am going to write a blurb for is the ever controversial Big Blonde girl. This is one of my favourite blogs, and this is down to the author Kat. She is absolutely hilarious. Every blog posts is littered with her personality. She is so honest and how she describes products will have you in stitches. There is even a few risqué posts thrown into the pot.
While I would love to write a blurb for every other blog I read, this post would go on for ever. Instead I have linked below all the blogs that I read every week. Go on and have a look and if you like give them a follow. I promise you won’t regret it.
