First things first. There is no quick way of getting rid of fat. There is no over night miracle product for getting skinny. I have had to come to terms with the fact that, I didn’t put on weight over night and I know I’m not gonna loose it overnight. The only thing that will help me get to a body shape I am happier with, is diet and exercise. However in saying that, there are little things that can help us out along the way to give us a little boost when we need it.
A few months back I was sent a number of products by Amy, from natural beauty evolution. Amy raves about these products and wanted to see how I got on with them. When I was sick last year, due to medications and treatments I put on nearly 3 stones. Trust me, to get the fat cancer! On top of my weight gain I had a lovely scar along my neck. Now before anyone says anything, when I was sick, getting better was the most important thing to me and I didn’t worry about either of these things. I also know how lucky I am to be in remission and it is only in the last few months that I have been able to start tackling the weight gain. The scar still doesn’t bother me, as I see it as a badge of honour as to what I have gone through.
The first product I tried, and one I have been using for months, is the defining gel. The defining gel is said to deeply tone, hydrate and firm the areas that it is applied to and with regular use it is said to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, cellulite and varicose veins. After chatting with Amy we thought that this defining gel, might be helpful in reducing the appearance of the scar on my neck. While as I mentioned above, my scar doesn’t bother me , I thought it would be worth trying to take the redness out of it.
I found that the Defining gel had a lot of great uses. Due to the cooling ingredients, I found it was fantastic on burns from the curling tongs, and it was very hydrating on the skin However, as due to some genetic freak of nature, I thankfully don’t have cellulite, I can’t say if it would be good for this or not, but due to the hydrating ingredients I would be inclined to say it may help in someway with the dreaded orange peel.It did also help a little, with the reduction in strechmarks on my legs. I applied it quite frequently to my scar and I have seen a reduction in the redness around the area.
The next product is one that I was very sceptical about and that was the body wrap. This is said to help you loose inches, tighten and tone loose skin with continued use. I was sent one wrap to try out, so while I can tell you about it’s immediate results, I wouldn’t know what long term use of these wraps is like.
The wrap itself came in a single pack and one side of the wrap was covered in a lotion. When I opened up the wrap the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelt of Vicks!! It wasn’t an over powering smell, but it was one that I strangely liked. I placed the lotion side of the wrap onto my stomach and as the packaging suggesting I wore very tight clothing over it. There was a bit of a weird tingly sensation on my skin for the first ten minutes or so but it wasn’t anything uncomfortable.
When wearing the wrap it isn’t just a case of sitting there and letting it do its work. You have to drink loads and I mean loads of water. I was up and down to the loo all night after this. The amount of water you have to drink depends on your actual weight and there are guidelines supplied for this. Not only do you drink loads of water when you are wearing the wrap, but you have to continue to do this after you have taken the wrap off, although not as much as when you are wearing it.
I wore the wrap for 45 minutes as it was my first time using it. Once you have tried it once, you can wear it for a few hours at a time. This is just to be safe incase your skin has a reaction as can happen with any new lotion you use on your body. When I removed the wrap, there was some lotion left on my skin which I rubbed in. I did notice that this left my skin feeling super soft on my belly. I didn’t however notice any difference in my size. That was until I woke up the next morning and I saw that there was a lot of bloat gone out of my belly. You see the It Works body wraps don’t actually get rid of fat cells, diet and exercise are your only man for that, but instead it gets rid of the things that make us bloated. As the wrap isn’t a 45 minute wonder, it continues to work for hours and hours after and that is why drinking water is so important as you are flushing out the toxins, you will be more inclined to see results within the following 72 hours, than in the immediate hours after removing the wrap. Remember I’m not a scenarist
The This Works wrap is not going to make your fat disappear, but I do think if you have a special occasion coming up, or you want to add them into a diet and exercise regime, then they can be good. I have seen a small difference in my belly area. My tummy doesn’t look as bloated as it had done and while I only saw a small difference , I have read so many reviews online and spoken to Amy who has told me that with continued use they can make a much bigger difference, but again they are not miracle workers. I do think these are more suited for people that only have a little bit of excess weight rather than anyone who weight is a big problem for. However again larger woman have had a lot of success with these wraps ( no offence meant by this)
I liked both products and will continue to use the defining gel as an every day moisturiser and body toner. The wrap would be something I would try in the run up to a special occasion, to just give me a little helping hand.
