Brows can really make or break a look. There is nothing worse than seeing someone with eyebrows so drawn on that they look like to big bits of black electrical type have been applied above their eyes!!!
When heading out at night, I really love a defined brow, and tend to use the Inglot AMC brow gel. However, during the day I have changed up my routine to give more of a natural look and to achieve this I use the NYX Micro eyebrow pencil.
For a very long time I was a huge fan of the Anastasia Beverly hills brow wiz. However, with Anastasia products a little hard to get your hands on in Ireland, I began to stray and look for an alternative.
Last summer I watched a Youtube video from Makeup Geek comparing the ABH brow wiz, with the NYX micro pencil. While you know how I feel about dupes, Marlena (Makeup Geek) found it very difficult to find a difference between these two products. She even went as a far as to speculate that they were actually made in the same factory!! My interest was peaked and I hunted this brow pencil down in Florida.
While in store I compared the ABH Brow Wiz with the NYX micro pencil and to say they were almost identical. If I was being really picky, the ABH Brow Wiz, was marginally easier to apply, but only marginally.
The NYX Micro pencil is comes in a thin, sleek pencil, with a brush on one end and product on the other. The brush is excellent for brushing through your brows, as it is nice a stiff and really gives bushy brows a good grooming.
The pencil end is quite thin, which I find excellent for sculpting out my brows. It also means that when I am applying product, I can do small little strokes to help mimic real hair. The pencil itself isn’t overly pigmented, which means that you can build up your colour and coverage to your desired look. Anyone who is afraid of the scouse brow can rest easy, as your brows are in safe hands with this pencil.
I have been using this pencil for months now and I find that it wears really well throughout the day and looks natural at all time. I wear the colour ash brown, which is very very similar to the ABH Soft brown.
The only down side to this pencil, is that it is a little hard to get in stores. I ordered mine from Boots online and had it delivered to my local store. I was actually pretty impressed with his service. I had never used it before, but I put my order in on Friday night and the pencil was ready for collection come 3pm the next day. I will absolutely use this method again.
You can buy it from Boots for €10.
