6 one swipe eyeshadows

DSC_1054Now that I am back in work, I don’t have time to be creating intricate eye makeup looks. For me it all about quick and easy. Recently when reading Beauty Life Michelle’s One swipe eyes post, it got me thinking about the shadows I use to create a quick makeup look. I have picked my favourite 6 shadows for either an easy night or day look.

Body shop colour Crush eyeshadow – Golden Cinnamon

DSC_1059This has been one of my most used eyeshadows over the last few weeks. It is literally the most perfect colour for Autumn and really makes blue eyes pop. It is a copper toned eyeshadow, with a hint of shimmer running through it. As you know I am not a fan of shimmery eyeshadows, but this is really just the right amount of shimmer and is really subtle. I will have a full review of the Colour Crush Autumn collection up on the blog later in the week. They can be bought in The Body shop for €12.95 each.

Chanel Illusion d’Ombre longwear eyeshadow – Fatal

DSC_1060First things first, excuse the condition of this eyeshadow, but as you can see this is a much loved shadow. This is a purple toned eyeshadow with burgundy undertones. When blended out on the lid you see the different tones coming through and it really makes my blue eyes pop. While it is an unusual texture, but is very easy to work with and blends out beautifully. The Chanel Illusion d’Ombre come in a range of colours and while they are saucy at €29.50, they really are fantastic for a quick, but effective eye. You can read a full review here.

Inglot no.421

DSC_1061You may be seeing a theme here. I love coppery toned eyeshadows! I am a massive fan of Inglot eyeshadows. They are pigmented, creamy, easy to work with and they have a range of colours that would make your eyes water. This is a pearl eyeshadows that comes with just the perfect amount of sheen to it. It is a coppery brown colour, and when blended, you can see a variety of tones come through. Like with the other colours, this really makes blue colours. Here is one of my favourite parts with Inglot shadows. They cost only €6 each. Bargain.

Mac Amber lights

DSC_1064If you have blue eyes then you must have this in your collection. Amber Lights is a rich, warm-toned coppery bronze with a frost finish. While I love to wear it on it’s own for a quick no nonsense look, this is also gorgeous with Mac vanilla on the lid, Amber Lights in the crease and Embark in the outer V.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo – On and On Bronze

DSC_1065On and on bronze and it is the most perfect all over the lid colour. When I use this, I just pop it on the lid on its own and off I go. It has some many different highlights going through it that it doesn’t need anything else. It is long wearing, not 24hours long wearing but non the less. There 9 colours in the range and even more in the states and they can be bought on most Maybelline stands. Each costs €10.49

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow  – Bitten

DSC_1067I have just been blown away by Makeup Geek eyeshadows, since I bought them last July. I have honestly never used such pigmented eyeshadows in my whole life. I am seriously in love with all of them, but Bitten has been a real stand out colour for me. While it is not one I wear all over my lid during the day. It is definitely one that I sweep all over the lid for a quick, but effective nighttime look. This is a deep cranberry colour, that when blended out, has a multitude of tones. I have a full review of my makeup Geek collection coming up soon, but needless to say you need as many of them in your life as you can afford.
