Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow wiz

While I love putting my makeup on, I absolutely hate doing my eyebrows. They just take ages and are no fun at all. Why wasn’t I blessed with fabulous brows? Why I ask you? I have tried so many brow products lately, some with good success, some like the Anastasia brow Genius are just way too much hassle.

I have been on the hunt for the Anastasia dip brow pomade and the Make Up For Ever Aqua brow for a while now, but they are always so out. So on an impulse a few weeks ago I bought the much raved about Anastasia Brow wiz. I had seen this when in I was in the States a few weeks ago, but I hadn’t bothered with it as I didn’t have a good track record with brow pencils. Well let me tell you this, The Brow Wiz is not like any other brow pencil, it is THE ultimate brow pencil.

The Brow Wiz comes with a spoolie on one end and the pencil on the other. The pencil is one that winds up rather than having to pare, which is great, because seriously I can never find a sharpener when I need one. However, you need to wind it down before you stick the lid on as it will break. You also do not want to wind up too far when doing your eyebrows as again it will break.

I use the colour soft brown, which is a perfect shade for brunettes. It can be applied lightly to the brow to just give the hint of shape , or you can build it up to give a stronger brow look. There are 7 shades to pick from allowing people the lightest and darkest hair colours to find a colour to suit them. The shades all have natural tones to them, so it won’t look like you applied your eyebrows with shoe polish.

What I love about this pencil is it is quick. Due to the fact that the colour pay off is good, you can fill in your brows quickly, without having to work hard to do so.  Another benefit is how long lasting it is on the brows. While it isn’t waterproof, it is long wearing. While it didn’t budge on me all day, if you have very oily skin you might want to set it with a clear brow gel.

I did want to mention one little negative that happened when I bought the pencil. I bought it in a leading brow bar in Dublin city centre. I didn’t ask for the price before I handed over my card, so when I was told it was €27 I nearly lost my life. I was too embarrassed to ask for my card back and paid for it and ran out the door furious. This pencil can be bought in the States for around €15 or on cultbeauty.co.uk for around €18.50. Now I know there is importing costs, but there is no excuse for charging €27. Even if they were ordering the pencils directly from Cult beauty that would mean a mark up of nearly €9. Not on. Not on at all.  They were completely and utterly ripping of the customer. I will never set foot in this establishment on South Williams street, nor will I ever recommend this place to a single person as a result of this rip off culture.

The brow wiz will be an item that I will repurchase again and again, as it just takes the hassle out of doing your brows. You can buy it here for around €18.50 plus delivery. If you are looking for a hassle free, natural brow, that looks amazing. I highly recommend the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

This is one thing I hate about shopping in Ireland. They rip you off left, right and centre!!
The anastasia website is a definite YES. I’m getting the Amrezy palette and brow pomade + shipping for 45 euro 🙂

Hi Sinead would you still need to use an eyebrow pencil even after getting your brows done in embrowderry. I’m considering getting it done is it worth the hype x

      Hi Laura,
some days I use the pencil to darken my brows up, but I don’t need to change the shape. I literally just run the pencil through parts of them to give them a little more darkness, if the look i am doing needs it.

Hi Sinead, I have soft brown and have to say I’m so disappointed with it. I think in some lighting it gives off a green/ grey cast. I also think it doesn’t wear well at all. I was so excited about ordering it and was bursting to try it. I was gutted especially after paying just under €30. I now only use it to put a slight underline on the brows. The only thing I like is the nifty little spolie brush. My search continues

[…]  The first must have item from ABH is the brow wiz. Even though I have embrowdery done, this little pencil is my saviour every morning, as it hardly takes 30 seconds to fill your brows in. It costs $21 and is seriously money well spent. You can read a full review here.  […]
