April’s Favourites

This month, I tried my best to keep to some sort of a spending ban. My makeup purchases were getting out of control and I thought I was going to have to attend some Beauty Addict Anonymous group. I decided instead of going out buying more new stuff, to delve into my makeup storage and use up what I already have.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting blusher- Diffused heat

I know I had this in my March favourites, but I have literally worn this everyday in April. It has not left my cheeks for one single day. I can not describe how much I love this blusher. It is hands down the best blusher I have ever tried. It is really pigmented, with great colour payoff that is buildable and it just melts beautifully into your skin. It doesn’t look powdery, or like a streak of blusher, but instead gives you the most gorgeous “glow from within” flush of colour to your cheeks. It is expensive at €32.50, but if you like blusher, than you need this.  You can read a full review here

Essence eyeliner pen

This eyeliner pen from Essence is a little gem of a product. The felt tip at the top has just the right about of stiffness , and it disperses just the right amount of product. I am not great at winged liner, but with this eyeliner pen, I can create the perfect winged look with no hassle at all. Best part is, it costs only €3.09. Bargain.

Inglot lipstick – 254

I am a big fan of Inglot lipsticks. They are really pigmented and so long lasting. I actually only own 3, but they are some of my most used lipsticks. This lipstick, in the colour 254 has been my most worn lipstick this month. It is the perfect colour for spring/summer. While it looks more of a hot pink in the pictures, it is a little more subtle in real life. I wear it during the day and it doesn’t look like I have a real daring lip on. I love putting the NYX butter glosses on top. I would get a good 4 hours wear out of this, which is a great length of time for lipstick that is moist like this one. Inglot lipsticks cost €13 each, which I think isn’t  too saucy in price.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Accelerates Epidermal Repair

DSC_0360

I am only now realising  I had a difference La Roche Posay product in the picture at the top, but sure what can ya do.  This month I got a sample of the No 7 super light weight foundation and sadly I had a really bad reaction to it and my skin was left in a bad way. It was like I had really bad eczema that was cracking. I was in agony. I tried all my usual routes and nothing was working. I had heard bloggers go on about how amazing La Roche Posay Cicaplast was, so I decided it was time to try it out. I literally had nothing to lose and my skin was really hurting. No word of a lie, within one application I saw huge improvement to my skin. It took away the pain and a huge amount of the flakiness. Within  3 or 4 uses over 2 days my skin was cleared up. I am not joking this stuff is literally a miracle worker. I have been using it as a moisturiser all month and my skin feels so soft. If you have dry or flaky skin then you need this. It cost me €12.50 which is a bargain for what it does.

Inglot Sparkle dust – number 2

This is yet another product that I have worn all month. This is the most gorgeous highlighting powder. It gives your skin the most beautiful glow. Even my boyfriend comment on it, which means it must really be doing something. A pot costs €18, but will  last you for years. You can read a full review here

Anastasia Brow wiz- soft brown

This product is hands down the best brow product I have ever tried. I ran out earlier in the month and was without it for 5 days!!! My brows just were not the same with out it. The brow wiz looks natural, goes on quickly and lasts all day. When I got the States this summer, I am actually going to buy back ups of this. I don’t ever want to be without it again. Hi Snead, My first time ever writing on a beauty website but read yours all the time. Just wanted to comment on the Hourglass powders and nars concealer you reviewed. I debated buying them for months as they are expensive but finally took the plunge 3 weeks ago and am SOOOOO pleased I did. You were spot on in your comments. They are beautiful and really make my make up and bare foundation free skin look better. I’m 40 and anything that makes a significant difference is very welcome. Thanks for the great reviews. I look forward to reading on. Anne.

Anne, I am so delighted that you liked both products. The hourglass powders are probably the only product I use everyday without fail. They are so worth the money.
