April’s Powder Pocket box

How is it almost May already? This is the fastest year ever! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get the legs out and feel the heat of the sun on them. This month, the people over at Powder Pocket must be feeling the same as me, this months box focuses on the summer weekend break away.

Blank Canvas E26 Blending brush

Not gonna lie, I let out a little yelp when I saw this. Sad I know, but I love seeing makeup brushes in subscription boxes. I am a huge fan of Blank Canvas brushes. I find their brushes are really soft, and while there is a little bit of shedding after washing, they hold up pretty well. I already have this brush, but you can’t actually ever have enough blending brushes. This particular brush is brilliant for applying product onto the lid and outer corners, as well as blending out harsh edges. This brush will set you back €6.99 and can be found on the Blank Canvas website. If you don’t already own any Blank Canvas brushes, this is a good place to start.

Bia Beauty Stop the Clock eye gel

I have heard a lot of good things about Bia Beauty and have wanted to try out some of their products for a while now. I was absolutely delighted to see a full size Bia Beauty product in this month’s box and to top it off, it was an eye gel. Exactly what I need. The Stop the clock eye gel is said to disperse trapped fluids and reduce puffy eyes and bags under the eyes, while at the same time reducing those fine lines that we all hate. All the ingredients are natural and they promise to instantly brighten up tired looking eyes. Fingers crossed, because my eyes can surely use this. This full size bottle contains 15ml and costs €16.95 on the Bia Beauty website.

Eva Professional Mystic Diamond Elixir

This is described as a hair elixir. It combines both argan oil and diamond power, to regenerate your hair and give it some shine. While I like the sound of this, I don’t really want to put it into my extensions for fear of damaging them. Still, it is a nice luxury sample to have in the box. A full bottle costs €25.99 for 100ml. I received around 10ml making it near the €2.60 mark.

La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra light Fluid SPF50

I am a recent convert to La Roche Posay. I recently had an allergic reaction to a makeup and the La Roche Posay cicaplast sorted my skin out in no time. Included in this months box is a Facial SPF. I am a little late on putting SPF on my face every day, but it is actually really important to apply SPF to your face everyday. Even in the winter!! This stops sun damage to your skin. I had actually thought about buying this Anthelios Ultra light fluid a few weeks back, so I am happy to see it in the box. My only complaint, is the sample is tiny. A full size costs €19.59 for 50ml, making this 3ml tube around €1.20. I will buy the full size product before I go on my holidays.

Etre Belle Cosmetics Long lasting Eye shadow pen

I have never actually heard of this brand before, but supposedly they are a popular German brand! This is a champagne colour eyeshadow pen that can also be used on the waterline. It is soft and I would anticipate that it is easy enough to blend. This particular colour would make an excellent highlighter colour. This is a another full size product and costs €9.95

Overall I am very happy with this month’s box. The 3 full size products are something that I will definitely use. The sample size products were a little on the small size, but really thats not a big deal. The over all cost of this months box works out at around €37.69, not bad going when you consider it only cost me €15 including delivery.

I really like how the people at Powder Pocket operate. They only take the money out a few days before delivery, they always deliver around the same few days at the end of the month, and the box is delivered by a courier who is always really friendly. I have had a few bad experiences with how other subscription boxes ( not an Irish one) treat their customers and it is a breathe of fresh air to see a company who values their customers and runs a tight ship. I will absolutely be keeping my Powder Pocket subscription going.
