I feel like I have finally cracked the secret to good skin care. My skin is in seriously the best condition it has ever been in. Long time readers of the blog will know that since I have no thyroid, my skin can act up from time to time. One of the main issues with my skin is dehydration and thanks to the two products below, I have finally found exactly what I need to keep my skin on track.
I have many favourites when it comes to skin care, including the Pink Cow moisturiser and The Body shop Vitamin C moisturiser and I can now add the Bio Essence Aqua Droplet Sleeping Beauty Mask and the Mizon Hyaluronic acid 100 to my list. These babies are the absolute bees when it comes to tackling dehydrated skin and fine lines. Honestly, I am obsessed with both at the moment.
Before I talk about each product, I think it is important to differentiate between dry skin and dehydrated skin. It is easier to diagnose dry skin, as you may have characteristics like small tight pores, your skin may have dry flaky patches, or it might be a little sensitive, as well as a few other signs. Most people with dry skin, know the tell-tale signs themselves .
Dry skin is treated with moisturisers that contain emollients to help prevent moisture loss, as well as good exfoliators to help remove any surface flakiness and help promote new cell growth. All very technical really!
Dehydrated skin on the other hand lacks water, but can still produce oil. So you can have oily skin, but your skin may still be dehydrated. A real sign of dehydrated skin, is very fine lines on the forehead. For years I thought this was premature ageing, until I visited the skin care guru that is Neelu and she explained to me that these fine lines can be very easily reduced or even eradicated through the use of hyaluronic acid! So how do these product helps.
Lets start with the Bio Essence Aqua Droplet Sleeping Beauty Mask. While this can be used during the day, to get the best results from this product, I find that you need to use it at night. I apply a decent layer onto my skin, where I let is sit for a few seconds, as water like droplets appear on the skin. I then massage these into the skin and leave to sit over night. The next morning you can feel a real difference in your skin straight away. The skin feels plumper, smoother and more hydrated. This is down to in part the high concentrate of hyaluronic acid. I actually can’t sing enough praise for this sleeping mask. It really left my skin feel amazing in the morning and my foundation when on much better. The only problem with this mask, is that my husband has now taken to using it on me!! He will kill me for saying that, but he was talking about the lines on his forehead and when I told him that they were from dehydration and that I use this mask to help mine, he is now lashing some on his face every night before bed!! I’ve had to hid it from him at this stage or I will have none left! Tell me the men in your life do the same thing.
The Mizon Hyaluronic acid 100 I use every day to help hydrate my skin even more. I apply this before my moisturiser and leave it soak into the skin for a minute or two before applying either the Pink Cow moisturiser or the Body shop Vitamin C moisturiser. I can’t tell you how gorgeous this feels on the skin. Between the sleeping mask and this hyaluronic acid, my skin is super hydrated and my lines on my forehead have seriously reduced. This is great for wearing makeup as the makeup has stopped sitting in those fine lines!!!
While both products work really well together, it is not essential to have both in your routine. It does help, but each work really well independently. It is very hard for me to pick the best one, as I honestly think both are amazing. If you want a more instant fix, the Bio Essence Aqua Droplet Sleeping Beauty Mask may be the one for you, if you are sung the sleeping mask on its own, make sure that you have a moisturiser with some level of hyaluronic acid in it. If you’re looking for more pro longed hydration, than the Mizon Hyaluronic acid 100 is really fantastic!
You can buy both products on Cult Beauty. The Mizon Hyaluronic acid 100 costs £32, which works out at about €45, which is expensive, but in my eyes it is 100% worth it. The Bio Essence Aqua Droplet Sleeping Beauty Mask is £29, which works out around the €40 mark. The exchange rate is really messing our beauty regimes up!!!
I am hoping to record a full skin care regime over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled to find out about all my favourite skin care products.
