bareMineral barePro Liquid foundation

BareMinerals is a brand I really fell for in the last year. I had always avoided trying it, as I just chalked it down as a “mineral makeup” and in my eyes, I always thought mineral meant sub standard. How wrong I was! Mineral makeup, or at least what I have tried , is just as good if not better in some cases, than regular makeup.

Having tried the Original BareMinerals powder foundation and liking how it wore, I got a sample of the Bare pro liquid foundation and went on to buy a bottle for myself. I have worn it for about 5 months now, so thought it was about time, I put my thoughts down in a blog post!

Shade Range: In the full range there is an incredible 30 shades to pick from. Not all stores seem to have the full shade range but the fact there are so many to pick from is fantastic. I am wearing Golden Nude at the moment and find it to be a great match to Mac NC20.

Packaging: The BarePro foundation comes in a 30 ml glass bottle with a pump lid. You can remove the lid to get the last dregs from the bottom of the bottle if needs be!

Texture: Be warned, this is liquidy! It will run on your brush if you are not quick! I like the fact it is so liquidy as it spreads quickly onto the face and a little does go a long way.

Finish: I find the finish of this quite satin like on my skin. However, it has got a slight tendency to look a tiny bit dry by the end of the day. I think if you are on the drier side, the finish on this will look dry on your skin. I actually wore this on television and the finish of the foundation looked beautiful. It doesn’t settle in my fine lines or wrinkles either!!  I do think you need to prep your skin for this foundation . I like to wear it with the bareMinerals Good hydration primer to stop it drying out on my skin.

The coverage on this foundation is excellent. I would say it is a good medium to light full coverage. I like that it covers any imperfection but doesn’t look heavy or cakey on my skin. You can see from the picture how it is covering my pigmentation. I have quite a bit of pigmentation due to pregnancy and while it doesn’t cover it completely, it does a very good job of it

LLasting power: On my skin, the BarePro foundation lasts incredibly well. I get a full 7/8 hours out of it before i need to top up a little. The only places I find that do need toping up, is around my mouth which is fairly standard for a days teaching, as I am talking a lot.

Skin Type: Personally I feel if you have dry skin to avoid this. On the days that my skin was a little on the dry side, I found that the BarePro foundation clung to the drier areas a little. It can feel a little drying on the skin too if you’re more on the dry side.  There were times I found it felt dry on my skin and a little tight. However, if you’ve normal or oily skin, I think this is 100% worth getting a sample of.

Price: A bottle costs €33 in Debenhams but I got it when they were having one of their 10% off weekends making it €29.70. There is something a little more palatable when a foundation comes in under €30.

Overall I really like  this foundation. I love the finish, coverage a staying power. When my skin is prepped correctly,  I think it just looks beautiful on the skin. I personally love how it looks on my own skin, but I would suggest getting a sample first before buying to make sure it suits you.

Will I repurchase a bottle when I finish this one? Yes, I more than likely will. I think the finish is lovely and the price point fair and it is a great foundation for work.
