Beauty on a budget

Everybody loves a bargain and lets face it, sometimes our back balance won’t allow us buy the high end brands that we lust after. Well fear not, with these little beauties you can spend less without compromising on quality.

1. Bourjois Healthy mix foundation

This foundation is a favourite of many beauty bloggers. It gives a light to medium buildable coverage with a dewy finish. This is great for all skin type, however if you have very oily skin you will need a primer to keep it in place for longer.  I have combination normal to oily skin and with a bit of setting powder I would only have to top this foundation up once around the chin area throughout the day. I don’t normally like budget foundations but I love this foundation. At €14.29 you can’t go wrong. Oh and it smells yummy too.

2. Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder

My skin can sometimes get oily around the t-zone. As a result my makeup is not complete with out using a little bit of this baby to set my foundation and make sure it won’t slip for the day. I use the lightest colour as I want it to set my foundation rather than add colour. This powder controls the shine while minimising the pores and giving an even matt finish. Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder retails for €5.99

3. Real Techniques Miracle complexion sponge

I have already written a post on how amazing this sponge is here. If you want a flawless finish to your foundation than this sponge is your only man. It can be purchased for €5.99 online at cloud 10 beauty.

4. Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner

I am a massive fan of gel liner and often use the Mac fluid line, however Maybelline Gel liner does the exact same job and even comes with its own little application brush. It’s is great for creating the winged liner look that is very much on trend this season. My only reservation with this liner is that if you leave it open for a long period of time it will dry out. At €11.99 compared with Macs €18.50 time to grab yourself a bargain.

5. Maybelline instant age rewind.

I recently spent €57 on concealer, corrector and setting powder from Bobbi Brown that promised to get rid of my dark circles. Boy to I regret that purchase as the Maybelline instant age rewind actually does a much better job. I love this concealer. I not only use it to hide dark circles but also for highlighting. This is a product that I will repurchase again and again. This is a must buy at €11.99

6. Real Techniques expert face brush

My favourite all time foundation brush is the Sigma F80 Kabuki brush but it is expensive at €19.95. The real Techniques brush does almost the exact same thing but at a better price. This brush gives your foundation a beautiful flawless finish. It also works well when applying cream blushes. It can be bought in boots for €13.29 or on iherb.com for $8.99

7. Maybelline Brow drama

The first time I used this product I thought to myself “Lord this is rubbish”. However once I read how to actually used it I fell in love. This can be used in 2 ways. Either on top of your eyebrow product or on its own. I normally apply Mac Charcoal brown eyeshadow on my eyebrows with and angled brush and then apply Maybelline Brow drama to add a little bit more colour and set the brows. When I want a no makeup look day I just run the product through my brows to give shape and a little bit of colour. I can promise you that if you use Maybelline Brow drama your brows will not budge all day. It retails for €7.49 but Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on Maybelline products at the moment.
