As a blogger, I am fortunate enough to try out a lot of new products every month. Somethings I love, some a bit meh and others are just not great at all. With so much product coming through the door, I don’t always find the time to write individual blog posts reviewing everything I get. In fact at the moment I am finding it hard to get more than one post a week up! So to try and tell you about as much new makeup bits as possible, I have decided to write a new monthly series. Each month, I am going to write a post telling you about a number…
The beauty world is a fickle place. Often there are products that receive a lot of attention and hype. Sometimes this attention and hype is justified and other times not so much. Then you have products, that perform like a dream and yet get little to no attention from the online beauty gurus and makeup fans. Under the radar products! Under the radar products, does not mean under the radar brands. Very often there are popular brands that have hidden gems that people just don’t know about. For todays post, I have picked out a number of my favourite products that I use on a regular basis, that tend to go under…
It seems that every week there is a new highlighter hitting the market. A new must have the product to achieve the glow you’ve longed for. A highlighter that will give you enough glow to be seen from space. If you’re like me and a little obsessed with highlighters, then it is very easy to get caught up in the hype that surrounds every new release. To make your decision a little easier when it comes to picking a new highlighter, I have put together my hits, misses and maybes. I know there are some obvious choices included, but there are a few controversial ones too!! Hits Becca Champagne Pop…
Star buys from the new releases from Wet n Wild
A few weeks ago I was sent a number of products to try out from the Wet n Wild new releases. Long time readers of the blog will know that I am a big Wet n Wild fan and many of their products are in my regular makeup rotation. Like with any makeup brand, there will be products that suit you and some that don’t. For today’s post I have picked out my star buys from the new releases that not only hold their own with other affordable brands, but in some cases rival that of their higher end counterparts. Megaliner Liquid eyeliner When it comes to eyeliner, I am pretty…
Cocoa Brown Rose Gold and Golden Goddess
Is there really any stopping Marissa Carter? Hot on the heels of her hugely successful Cocoa Brown Golden Goddess shimmery dry body oil release late last year, comes the Limited Edition Rose Gold Goddess . I mean the words limited edition and rose gold are enough to make any girls heart skip a beat. Both the Original Golden Goddess and the new limited edition Rose Gold Goddess are shimmering dry oils that offer both a highlight and natural glow to our skin depending on how it is applied. The only difference between the original Golden Goddess and the new Rose Gold goddess being the colour and tone that they offer your…
Mac must haves
Have you ever gone into a Mac store and wanted to make a purchase but been completely overwhelmed by all the products? With so many products to pick from, it is hard to know exactly what is worth parting with your cash for. To help you treat yourself to something special, I have picked out my top 5 products. I didn’t include any lipsticks or eyeshadows, as to be honest, they deserve a whole post to themselves, there are just so many good ones. I promise to get one of those up soon!! Mac Fix + As you can see from my almost empty bottle, Mac Fix + is a…
If you’re all about a highlight that you can see from space, then this is not the review for you. However, if you’re into more of a subtle glow, that won’t leave you shimmering like a disco ball, then you are right where you need to be. The highlighter comes in a really cute compact that contains quite a decent size amount of product and a good size mirror. The packaging itself is plastic, so doesn’t scream luxury, but it is very pretty looking, so that can be forgiven. In fact it almost feels like a shame to use it, as there is a lovely fancy chandelier embossed on the…
Summer Makeup essentials: Part 1, flawless looking skin
Don’t you just love a little bit of sunshine and heat on your bones. It isn’t often we bask in beautiful weather, so when we do, we want our makeup to look nice and light, fresh and summery, rather than a melting mess. To help you look summer ready, I have put together a post with my summer makeup essentials to give you flawless and long lasting skin. To help keep the costs as low as possible, I have included some high end and budget alternatives where I can. SPF While most skincare products contain SPF unfortunately this is not enough to protect our skin from the suns harmful rays.…
Don’t you just love when a product takes you by surprise and worms it’s way into your heart? Well that is exactly what has happened with the Seventeen Skin Wow 3 way highlighter. As the name suggests the Seventeen Skin Wow 3 way highlighter is a multi tasking product. First off it can be used as a primer to help keep your foundation in place. I found that it did a decent job as a primer, but what I really liked about it was when it was used in this way was the beautiful glow it gave to your skin underneath your foundation. As you can see from the swatch above…
At this time of year, I am all about trying to achieve the perfect glowing skin. When we enter the Spring time, we tend to leave behind the heavily made up skin and lean towards a lighter more glowing look.Rather than constantly changing up our foundation, one way of helping to achieve a more glowing look is with an illuminating base. An illuminating base is basically a primer or base that has illuminating qualities to it that will help your skin achieve a little more radiance or dare I say a glow from within look. Over the past few weeks and months I have been trailing a number of these bases…
Over the past number of weeks there has been some serious hype surrounding the collaboration between Becca Cosmetics and Youtube sensation Jaclyn Hill. For weeks I have been seeing snapchats, Instagram posts and blog posts about Champagne pop, the new Becca Highlighter. I am not normally one to fall for hype, but this highlighter really got me and as soon as it came online, I made a purchase. My god am I glad I did, as this highlighter is unbelievable!!! For those of you that haven’t heard of Jacyln Hill, she is a makeup artist, who tried her hand at Youtube and now has over 2 million subscribers. Those of…
Lets face it, when it comes to highlighters the more glow I can get the better. Lately I am an absolute fiend for highlighters and I am constantly on the hunt for a new, better product. I have to partly blame Jaclyn Hill for my highlighter obsession, as that girl always has the most unbelievable glow. In fact on July 2nd she is releasing her own highlighter with Becca Cosmetics, in the shade Champagne Pop. I mean just look at it.!!! I have already set a reminder in my phone to buy it the day it comes out, as this baby will sell out fast! To help you track down…
For the past few months, it seems that every single blogger, including myself, has been all about the Boots Botanics Radiance balm. For weeks and weeks the Radiance balm was out of stock in Boots across the country, as makeup addicts rushed to buy it to achieve radiant looking skin. The reason for this? Well Boots Botanics Radiance balm is said to be a dupe for the makeup artists favourite Mac strobe cream and who doesn’t love a dupe. Yet here is the thing, Just how alike are Strobe cream and the Boots Radiance balm? Is the €7.99 product from Boots as good as the Mac classic for €33.50? And…
For a long time I wouldn’t give into the hype surrounding The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer. Far too many people were raving about it, that I thought it might be too good to be true and I felt I had enough highlighters that I didn’t need to check if the hype was true or not. That was until a few weeks, when I was at a bloggers event, Dee from Viva Adnois took out her Mary Lou Manizer and I swatched it. Holy Mary mother of God!! I now get what all the hype was about and more! The Mary Lou Manizer is a smooth, buttery and extremely pigmented highlighter.…
