The first and most important thing I need to say in this post is Thank you. Thank you to every single person who reads my blog, follows The Beautiful Truth on Facebook and Twitter and to those who nominated me for a Company magazine style blogger award. It is down to you lovely lot, that The Beautiful Truth has made the shortlist for the Company Magazine Style Blogger awards in the Best International blog Newcomer category. Not only that, but The Beautiful Truth is the only Irish blog nominated in the category!!

I got the news that I had made the shortlist late on Thursday night, from Yaz whose blog is Glitter Mama Wishes. Since then, I feel like I am floating around in a haze of excitement and loveliness. You have no idea how much this means to me. I have read Company magazine for years and to win one of their prestigious awards would be unbelievable.

As most of you already know, in April 2013 I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. Like any cancer, this diagnoses seriously knocked the wind out of my sails. I was far too young to have cancer.  In October 2013, I was faced with another operation, more treatment and a prolonged period of time off work. After a few hours of the most ugliest crying you have ever seen, I decided there was no way I was going to sit on my back side and see my IQ level plummet while watching marathons of Jermy Kyle and Judge Judy. I decided it was time I started something I had mulled over for a long time. With a push from my boyfriend and my friend Emma, The Beautiful Truth came into existence.

Since then I haven’t looked back. Blogging has given me focus and enjoyment during my time off. I have met many new people that I now count as friends and have nearly bankrupted myself from buying a multitude of new makeup. In March, I finally got the good news that I was cancer free .While the past year has been hard, so much good has come from it, and as corny and Brady bunch as this sounds, the past year has really changed my life for the better. To win a Company Magazine style blogger award, would literally be the cherry on the cake.

While my blog is the only Irish blog nominated in my category there are other Irish blogs in different categories. When clicking through to vote, I would love if you guys could also vote for Hannah from Love Life and Makeup in the best designed blog category.

The Irish are great for rowing in behind each other and giving their support. It would be unbelievable for an Irish blog to win a Company magazine style blogger award and I am not gonna lie, I would literally fall down with the happiness and excitement if my blog won. It would be great if you could spread the word on voting xx
