My current favourite hair care products

Good hair doesn’t just happen. It can take time, a little bit fo effort but above all it takes good products! I have very picky when it comes to hair care products. I like my products to do an amazing job with very little effort from me! With that in mind I have picked out my favourite product for luscious locks!

Pureology shampoo

I have harped on about this shampoo for coming on two years now. While I try new shampoos, I always end up coming back to this. I have no problem in saying, I love this shampoo.

There are so many things that I like about it. Firstly, it is sulphate free. As I wear Gold Fever hair extensions, I have to use sulphate free shampoo to protect the bonds. However, sulphate free shampoos help prolong your hair colour and they are just better for the hair. I am a firm believer that we should all be using sulphate free shampoos for our hair, but then I am no hairdresser!

The next thing I like about it is, how well it lathers. With a lot of sulphate free shampoos, it can be hard to get your lather on, but again this is not the case with Pureology. This laters up very easily and makes washing your hair a quick affair.

Finally, when I use Pureology, I find that I wash my hair an awful lot less. When I use Pureology, I don’t have to wash my hair until the 4th day and have often gotten to the 5th day with a little help from dry shampoo.

Moroccan Oil Dry shampoo

Even though Pureology is a great shampoo, I still hate washing my hair! If I can squeeze an extra day or sometimes two out of it I will. I have never been a great lover of dry shampoo, as I found they just left my hair feeling a bit meh! That was until, Lisa from Zinc hair and beauty introduced me to the game changer that is the Moroccan Oil dry shampoo.

This is a light weight dry shampoo that doesn’t leave your hair feeling heavy. Instead it leaves it clean and smelling good.

The Moroccan oil Dry shampoo comes in two tones. Light tones and dark tones. When sprayed on the hair, there isn’t a sign of any white cast once you massage the product into your hair. Instead it works with the tones in your hair.

I apply it before going to bed and then again in the morning and there isn’t a sign of grease when I do this! It isn’t cheap but a can will last you ages!! You can buy it online from Zinc Hair and beauty here for €20.45.

Luna by Lisa Miracle Hair treatment

This is another gem of a product. I love a hard working product that does a few different things and that is exactly what the Luna Miracle Hair treatment does.

First off, I find this to be a super detangler. I have natural knotty hair and then with the extensions, it can take a bit of effort to get the knots out. Not with the Luna hair treatment. I use 4 sprays of this and my brush literally glides through my hair like a hot knife through butter.

It is also said to help repair dry and damaged hair. This doesn’t happen over night but with prolonged use of the treatment, I found that my normally dry ends felt lovely and soft. In fact my whole head of hair felt soft. I had my extensions in over 6 months and they were still soft and shiny when I got them taken out,  thanks to this.

It is also said to have UVA & UVB Protection. It is Sulphate & Paraben Free and it works as a colour protectant too. There are literally so many benefits to this, that there are too many to mention here.

One thing to watch out with when you’re using the treatment, is less is best. If you apply even one or two spritz too much it will leave your hair feeling heavy. For my hair 4 spritz is enough and I have tonnes of hair!! It is a pharmacy based product and you can currently get it from Molloys Lifestyle Pharmacy for €15.95 here.

Glamtex Backcomb Effect Spray

The bigger the hair the closer to god! I love big hair. Honestly the bigger the better. I find a lot of big hair products can leave your hair feeling product heavy and in need of a wash the next day. I find that Glamtex gives you the volume and height without felling like you have helmet head.

There are two ways to apply it. You can apply it directly to the roots and tussle your hair with your fingers to get volume. Or I spray it and then backcomb a bit for even more height!

This is another salon based product at retails in store at €25. I got mine from Shush hair in Rush co. Dublin. I have found a seller on Amazon too, which you can check out here.

Moroccanoil Hair treatment

I firmly believe that everyone needs a bottle of this stuff. This is hands down one of my favourite hair products ever. The Moroccanoil hair treatment is said to absorb into the hair quickly to help with the manageability, shine and condition. I can 100% say it works too.

There are two ways to use it. The first way is to use it each time you wash your hair. Apply one or two pumps to the palm of your hands and apply the oil to the lengths and ends of your hair. This will act as a heat protectant when styling. It helps with the condition of dry and lifeless hair and it gives and incredible shine.

The next way to use it is as a weekly treatment. Apply to 6/7 pumps to your hair and leave it in for a half hour or so. Then wash your hair as normal. This will see your hair really transform. I have seen it happen so many time with my own hair. Anytime I have over styled my hair this is what I do to get it back in super condition again.

You can buy it from Feel Unique for €39.42 here.
