Today’s post is a little different than most posts, as it is a guest post by Sandra from A modern Mommy’s world. Sandra is relatively new to blogging, but already she has given me a serious case of the green eyed monster with her post on her unbelievable walk in wardrobe. Ladies this wardrobe would give Carrie from Sex in the City a serious run for her money. You can check out her wardrobe here, and once you have read her top 10 beauty must haves, you can follow her blog on Facebook and Twitter.
Hey guys, Sandra here from A Modern Mommy’s World and I am thrilled to be a guest blogger for the lovely Sinead of The Beautiful Truth. This is my first time as a guest blogger and I was so excited when Sinead asked me. I am a huge fan of The Beautiful Truth and Sinead, and it is a great opportunity for me to reach out to her much larger audience. I decided I would do this guest post on My Top 10 beauty must have Products, I think this is a good way to introduce myself and for you the readers to get to know me better. I have put together my most used products and the products I continue to reach for time and time again.
Seventeen Instant Glow Bronzing Mousse
So my first must have product is Seventeen Instant Glow Bronzing Mousse. I find it difficult to get tan done most of the time, with two young kids and a busy house, it can be hard to plan tanning, between exfoliating, moisturising and with 4 in our bed some nights, it is not a very conducive environment to achieving that perfect tan the next morning. So I tend to grab for the instant tan a lot. I have tried them all and this is my firm favourite. It is a mousse and goes on very easily and spreads well without drying in really quickly. It smells devine and is the most beautiful colour and also you can build the tan. Even when I do put on my Vita liberata or Cocoa Brown tan, I still top it off with this instant tan, because I love it so much. And it only costs €7.95 doesn’t get much better than that guys.
No 7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask
Next is the No 7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask. I have always had dry and dehydrated skin, I get dry patches and flaky tight skin, and its especially bad during the colder winter months when we start to use the central heating a lot more. I love this mask, its leaves the skin so soft and hydrated. Pop this on for 5-10 minutes after you clense and tone. Rinse off with warm water and moisturise as normal. Voila that’s it lovely fresh soft hydrated skin. This costs €17.
No.7 Skin illuminator radiance boosting beauty fluid
Another No7 Product and its the skin illuminator radiance boosting beauty fluid. I love this, it is so beautiful and makes the skin glow. You can apply this before foundation or as a highlighter after foundation but I tend to just mix it in with my foundation, I have also used it with just a tinted moisturiser for a really sun kissed look during the summer. I really love a dewy finish with a glow to it, so this is perfect to create that look with any foundation and I have to say I use this product nearly every day. This costs €14.25.
Seventeen Stay Time Foundation
Next is again Seventeen, I swear I love Seventeen products, I really think the quality for the price is unbelievable and while I have tried the high end brands especially looking for that perfect foundation, but I still keep coming back to this foundation. It’s Seventeen Stay Time Foundation. This is a full coverage foundation and lasts me all day. I put my make-up on early morning and its still perfect come 8 that evening. There are six different shades to choose from, I use shade Natural when not wearing tan and shade Biscuit for when I have tan on. This costs just €8.19 so for me I can’t justify spending four times that amount for a high end product that won’t perform a whole lot better than this bargain product. The next must have product is the Stay time concealer which I use in shade Very Fair. I love to have a very bright under eye area and I am quite pale so I need a very light under eye concealer. Again a great product for full coverage for those dark circles. This costs €5.69.
Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick in Red Velvet
The next product is a new find for me and I was very surprised by how much I loved this. Its Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick in Red Velvet. I was very reluctant to try this brand after I got a Wet n Wild mega last gloss that I hated, it felt like glue on my lips. But I gave in because they are priced so well and I was so pleasantly surprised and so glad I bought. This is a beautiful blood red colour, perfect for Christmas. And this colour is so beautiful with just a nude shadow and liquid liner. I put this on in the morning and just needed a bit of a top up after lunch and it felt so nice on, didn’t go all lumpy, cakey and peeling after a few hours like some lipsticks do. I even got myself a second one the next day because I liked it so much, a beautiful plum colour called Sugar plum fairy. This just goes to show that just because one thing in a product range doesn’t work for you, doesn’t mean something else in the same range won’t work either. This is a brilliant price at just €2.99.
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid eye liner
Well what can I say about this product, we have been together for as long as I can remember. Its Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid eye liner. This is my all time favourite product. I LOVE LOVE LOVE liquid eyeliner, I have been wearing liquid liner since I started wearing make-up 20 years ago (oh god I feel old saying that). I swear my mother must have been rocking some fab winged liner when I was born and it must have been the first thing I seen upon entering the world lol. I can’t go without wearing liquid liner and so I have tried a lot of them but I always come back to this beauty. From time to time we get a bit sick of each other as with all good relationship! but it never lets me down and has been in my life for years upon years. This is a pen eyeliner tip but in liquid so you don’t have the problem of drying out like a lot of the pen eyeliners. I tend to find that with an eyeliner brush the bristles can start to come away and stray and you end up with a mess. Now I have used pen tips that are thinner and so maybe if your new to liquid liner practise with a thinner tip eyeliner before trying this. A good one to straight with is Blank Canvas winged it eyeliner pen and if this pen does dry out a bit you could dip it in this Rimmel liquid liner. This costs €7.69.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
My next must have is the the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I love this palette, you can get so more different colour combinations from day to night. The pigment is brilliant and I just love it. I have tried all the different naked inspired pallette’s and while they are not bad or anything, you still can’t beat the original. The only thing I dislike is that the colour Sin which I love, is not in this Palette. This is €44.
Urban Decay Brow Box
My next must have is another Urban Decay product, this one is The Brow Box. Every girls needs a good brow kit and this is mine. It includes a dark brown and a light brown to colour and fill in the brows and also setting cream to set the brows in place. Then underneath the colours is another little compartment with two brow brushes and a tweezers. Great for achieving that perfect brow. The brow box is available in two colours, Brown Sugar and Honey Pot. I went for Brown Sugar because I am quite dark. This is €25.
MooGoo soothing moisturising cream
Last but not least is my must have beauty/mommy product. I think every mommy should own this. Its MooGoo soothing moisturising cream. The reason I love this so much is because everyone in our house uses this. This is a completely natural product, not perfumed at all,so if you like a really beautiful smelling moisturiser, then this is not for you. This can be used on even the most sensitive skin and I tend to be sensitive. It is also really good for the dreaded eczema in kiddies and its so natural they could eat it, mine have had a taste lol. I love a product that has several uses so this for me is a great product. This is €20 and available in selected chemists nationwide. This range covers products from scalp creams to nappy rash creams.
So there you go guys, My Top 10 Must Have Beauty Products. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading. And a massive thank you to Sinead for having me as a guest blogger on The Beautiful Truth. Be sure to check out my website here . You can also follow me on facebook twitter and instagram.
