IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC cream

With IT Cosmetics launching in Boots UK, it is only a matter of time before it reaches Irish shores. With that in mind, I thought I would tell you about It Cosmetic’s cult product, the Your Skin But Better CC cream.

The Your Skin But Better CC cream has been raved about by bloggers for a number of years now. It is a colour correcting product. CC creams are said to help even out discolouration in your skin. It will help with redness, dullness and sallowness and will help neutralise any discolouration while letting the natural look of your skin come through!

Shade Range: The shade range in the CC cream is absolute pants! There is only 7 shades in the range with the lightest two being what most Irish skin would suit. I personally wear the light shade and find that shade  to be somewhere between a match with Mac NC 20/25. However, I personally didn’t find a huge difference when I swatched the light and the fair shade so I think there might be a struggle for some to get a shade that suits. I also found them to lean to the yellow tone side a lot! On the flip side, it does cater for darker skin, which so many other brands don’t seem to!

Packaging: I really like the packaging of this CC cream. It comes in a tube with a pump applicator. I find the pump gives out the perfect amount of product too. The packaging is easy to keep clean and perfect for travel! The tube contains 30ml of product which is about standard.

Texture: When pumped out the product does look quite thick. However, it blends in really well and it feels lovely and light on the skin, so don’t be turned off my how thick the consistency looks on first pump.

Finish: I bought the original CC cream and I find the finish of this to be a little more on the matte side but it doesn’t feel matte on the skin at all.  There is an illuminating version of the CC cream and when I finish this tube, I think I will be trying that . I do find that the finish of the original CC cream can look a little drying on the skin and while it doesn’t feel overly drying on my skin, it can sometimes look powdery if my skin isn’t very hydrated.

Coverage: IT Cosmetics claim that the CC cream is full coverage. I have to disagree with that. To me full coverage means total block out of the skin and I don’t really get that with this. I would say that it is a high medium coverage but it can be sheered out  so that you can see some skin coming through. This is excellent for evening out your skin tone and covering redness and imperfections. While at the same time it still allows skin to shine through making it a perfect day time product.

Lasting Power: I find that this last really well throughout the day. I do tend to powder my t-zone, as I am a little on the oily side there but over all it wears really well. I would also wear a primer with this, just to give a little more hydration as it can cling to drier areas. Even when it wore off, it didn’t look patchy at all.

Skin type: I don’t think this is going to suit those with dry skin, as it can look a little powdery and clingy to dry areas. For me this is for those that have normal or combination oily skin but not very oily skin.

Price: It retails at £30 so somewhere around the €35 mark. You can currently buy it from QVC and Selfridges but it will be available in Boots UK soon.

It is worth noting that this CC cream has an SPF 50 UVA/UVB protection in it. I have worn this with no other SPF on my skin on very sunny days and haven’t gotten burnt but that is not a scientific study, just my experience. SPF is always a must!

Overall I really have a lot of time for this CC cream. I reach for it again and again and will 100% repurchase when I run out. It will be the illuminating one I repurchase as I want to compare the two to see which suits my skin better. I think this is the perfect product for you skin for summer as it feels light weight but at the same time gives coverage and makes your skin look super!!
