Seriously, this has been the fastest January ever. I suppose the fact I spent 2 weeks in the Florida sun has helped speed it along, but I can’t believe we are about to head into February. My birthday month. Not gonna lie, not really feeling my birthday this year. I hate getting older.
It was hard choosing my favourites this month, as there is so much I was loving. I have managed to narrow it down to 8 items, but only that I stopped myself there could have been a whole lot more.
L’Oréal Studio line #TXT Volume super sizing spray
My god the name is a bit of a mouthful. If you follow me on twitter or Facebook, you will actually be sick of me going on about how amazing this stuff is. I love big hair. I mean the bigger the better and I have tried a lot of volumizing products with varying levels of success, but this stuff. OMG. You get massive hair with it. I’m talking 80’s style volume and the best part is the volume lasts all night. All you have to do, is spray it at the roots and rub it in with your fingers voilá. It is not sticky, but I find I do need to wash my hair the next day if I’ve use loads of it for a night out. This spray is on offer in Dunnes at the moment for around the €2.69 mark and I have actually stocked up. I don’t ever want to be stuck without it. 100% a holy grail hair product for me.
Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara
I only began using Make Up For Ever products last year, but it is fast becoming a real favourite brand of mine. I have been using this mascara for a few months now and I can honestly say, all of my other mascaras are now sitting in the drawer untouched. I love this stuff. When using mascara I like it go give my lashes both length and volume and don’t want to sacrifice one to get the other. This mascara gives me both in abundance. I had previously found myself wearing false lashes during the day, but with the Smoky Extravagant mascara I don’t need to as it gives me huge lashes. You can buy this at Make Up Forever Clarendon street or if you ring them they will post it out to you. They are currently working on getting their website up and running, but it should be good to go mid Februrary. I promise to do a full review with pictures asap.
Mac Prep + Primer Highlighter pen in Radiant rose
Who doesn’t love a good cream highlighter. Since I bought this at the start of the month, I have fallen more and more in love with it. You can read a full review of it
here. You can buy this at most Mac counters for €24.50
Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Genius
I have had a real love/hate relationship with this product all month. I love the finish it gives my eyebrows. In fact, when I use this I find myself looking in the mirror and admiring my brows. What I don’t like about it, is it is messy. It comes with a little brush, a powder and a brow gel. You have to mix them together to get the colour and consistency that you want. I found out the hard way that a little of each goes a long way other wise you get a serious scouse brow. If you are anyway good at doing your brows you are going to love this product, but if you aren’t very good then run away fast.I mean leg it. I have included it in my favourite because even saying how hard it is to use, the final finish is brilliant. My brows have never looked as good. I will do a full review of this at some point and include loads of step by step pictures so you can get a better idea of how it works. It’s hard to source in Ireland but cultbeauty.co.uk do a large range of Anastasia products.
Tarte Amazonian Clay blusher in Dollface
This blusher makes me sad. Why, why, why didn’t I buy more of these when I was away? The only reason I bought this one was because everybody talks so highly of them, but I thought it was just hype. My god was I wrong. This is the most gorgeous, long wearing pink blusher. It goes on easy, is really pigmented and it just sits beautifully on the skin. I need more of these, but until QVC UK launch them in March, I have no way of getting my mitts on them. If you are anyway near the States, trust me you need one, if not all of these blushers.
Mac Pro Longwear concealer
I have pretty dark under eye circles. I have been on the hunt for a good coverage concealer for ages. My drawer is fairly full of them, but this one is beginning to outshine all of them. Mac pro long wear concealer, is a full coverage long lasting product, that is probably the 1st concealer that has managed to cover my circle. It does have a tendency to crease if you don’t set it, but once you do it will keep the circles at bay for most of the day without touching up. This is yet another product that I promise to do a full review on once I have used it more. You can get it at Mac counters for €20.
Hourglass ambient lighting powder in Diffused light
Yet another product that I have raved about on Facebook and Twitter, but this seriously lives up to the hype that was created around it. You may as well just face facts that I adore these powders and they will always be in my favourites, even if I don’t feature them. For those of you that haven’t heard of it, it is a finishing powder that gives your skin a glow from within, while at the same time, blurring out imperfections and reducing redness and the size of pores. It really is a miracle worker. You can read more about it
here.
Inglot Eyeshadows
I am a recent enough convert to Inglot eyeshadows, but I already know I need more of them in my life. They are really pigmented and easy to work with. The 3 colours I found myself reaching for most over all my eyeshadows this month was 21, 11 and 395. Write that down somewhere as I promise you, you will never remember the numbers when you go to buy them . 11 and 21 work really well together, with 11 on the lid and 21 blended into the crease. 395 I use every single day. It is a perfect highlighting colour. Each of these eyeshadows cost €6 each and can be bought at all Inglot counters.

January 31, 2014 at 8:31 pmMust keep on the look out for that l’oreal spray, my hair is always in need of some puff as its so flat! Can’t say I’m a fan when anyone talks about brow products but thats purely because I need mine done and to be taught how to wear makeup on them, my god I look so shocked when I go near them lol! Lastly (My god I’m rabbiting on!) Inglot is something I hear raved about and have had a quick look at their stands before, but those colours are so beautiful they might have just given me that extra push to go and have a proper look/sneaky buy of some.
Things you do to me lady!! 😉 x
