La Roche Posay Toleraine Ultra eye contour

DSC_9626If you follow me on Snapchat ( @thebeauttruth) you will already know that a few weeks ago I began to have terrible problems with my under eye area. The skin under my eyes became very dry, thin and developed a serious amount of wrinkles over night. Not only that but my makeup was sitting really terribly in this area and after a few hours would wear off completely. It was like I had aged 25 years over night. You can see a little of what I mean in the picture below. I had put a lot of this problem down to pregnancy hormones, but when I posted on snapchat that I was having this problem, I was shocked with the amount of people also suffering. It was time to go on the hunt for a solution.

As someone who has extremely sensitive skin, I tend to have reactions quite a lot and La Roche Posay has saved me on more than one occasion. The Cicaplast pro recovery is an absolute Holy Grail product for me when it comes to reactions on my face. While the Effaclar duo range really is fantastic for breakout prone skin. When I went to the La Roche Posay section in the pharmacy, it was the Toleriane Ultra eye contour that caught my attention.

DSC_9602The Toleriane Ultra contour for eyes is said to sooth any irritated eyes, help relieve puffiness and minimise any discomfort. It is also designed for people who have sensitive or allergy prone skin. One thing that stood out to me about the product before I even put it near my face, was the ingredients. It is free from preservatives, parabens, perfumes, alcohol, colorants and lanolin, making it perfect for me to use, as when you’re pregnant there are so many ingredients that you need to avoid!

Screen Shot 2016-04-24 at 19.45.33To apply the Toleriane Ultra contour for eyes, I used one small pump for my two eyes and applied it right up to underneath my eyes. I found it instantly soothing on my skin and there was not an announce of irritation, which can happen when product is applied to very dry and sore under eyes. It also sank into the skin very quickly making it possible to apply my makeup within a minute or two of application. I should also note, that to help with recovery,  I also stopped applying any other skin care products up past my eye socket and I upped my water intake considerably.

DSC_9613After about a week of using the eye contour, I began to see a major difference in my under eye area. The creppy and dry look had more or less disappear and the fine lines that had appeared over night were gone. Thank the sweet Lord, as it was really getting me down. Now over two weeks later, there isn’t a bother with my eyes, but I am still continuing to use this eye area. I am using it now to prevent any problems coming back, rather than trying to heal the eye area.

This has worked wonders for me and if you suffer from similar problems, it is worth giving it a try. At only €19.99 it won’t break the bank. You can pick it up from pharmacies that stock the La Roche Posay range nationwide or online here.

Oh I definitely am going to pick this up to try! I’m having the same problem, and I’m not pregnant haha! It’s not sore but it just looks dry and like that lines have appeared out of nowhere and no concealer looks right! I’ll have to give this a whirl!

Genuinely, your eyes still look great in the photo but it’s fab this is working for you. Lar uses my skincare but his eyes are super sensitive so I think I’ll grab this for him!

I’m such a huge LRP fan as well – Haven’t tried this eye cream yet though. Definitely on the list now!
