When it comes to shampoo and conditioner I have a long list of things I expect for it to get my seal of approval. Lets call a spade a spade here, washing and drying your hair is painful, so you want to make sure that when you do give your mop a scrub, you end up with luscious looking locks and not a limp a greasy mane.
I recently wrote a post about sulphate free shampoos and a huge amount of readers got in touch with me after reading that post saying that I really needed to try the Pureology range. I had previously heard of the Pureology range, but while I had heard about the range, I really didn’t know very much detail at all. On further research, I was blown away by the amount of products in the Pureology range. No matter what your hair type, they seem to have it covered. The Pureology website even has a tool that helps you pick the best range to suit your particular hair type. This is brilliant for making sure you’re getting a product to target your issues, as once you’re using the correct range, you will see results with your hair.
Recently, when I was in Peter Marks in Galway, they washed my hair with this shampoo and then subsequently gifted the hydrate range to try out. The ends of my hair are a little on the dry side and the hydrate range is specifically designed for dry, coloured hair. In fact it states that it won’t strip the colour from your hair, but instead will help keep your colour.
From the very first use I fell for this shampoo and conditioner duo. They really are nothing short of fantastic and they have left my hair in fantastic condition.
One of the first thing I look for in a shampoo is how easily it lathers up. Sulphate free shampoos are notorious for being hard to get a good lather, but that is not the case with the Pureology hydrate shampoo. In fact I found that I was probably using too much product, as I thought I needed more than I did to get my hair all sudsy! You really only need a small amount of shampoo to get a good lather up.
It also washes out very easily, which again can be another issue with sulphate free shampoo. You don’t have to spend ages scrubbing at your hair under the water to make sure that you have removed all the product. I should also note, that I don’t have to double wash my hair with Pureology. I have previously mentioned in blog posts that I always have to double wash with sulphate free shampoos to make sure my hair is clean but a single wash works wonders with Pureology.
When my hair is fully dried off, it feels incredibly soft. I am talking the type of soft that keeps you touching your hair all day long. On top of that it gives your hair a beautiful shine. This is the best shine I have achieved from a shampoo in a very long time. My hair really feels and looks in great condition when I use this shampoo.
Ready for the best part? As a result of the shampoo really giving my hair a good clean, I don’t have to wash it anywhere near as much as I would with a regular shampoo. I can easily get 4 days out of washing my hair. For example, if I wash it Sunday morning, I wouldn’t need to wash it again until Thursday morning and if I really pushed it with some dry shampoo, I could probably wait until Friday!!
The conditioner is also equally as good, but if I am being honest, if you invest in the shampoo on it’s own, that will probably suffice!! I haven’t used the conditioner near as much as I have used the shampoo.
I honestly can’t recommend this shampoo and conditioner enough. This will 100% be repurchased again and again, as I can’t get over how lovely it leaves my hair. You can pick it up in Peter Marks for €18.50 for the shampoo and €22.50 for the conditioner. You can also buy it online on Look fantastic here . ( affiliate link)
