I don’t know about you, but I often find it difficult to pick a gift for somebody or even myself when the value goes over €50. To help you with your Christmas shopping or indeed to help you pick something that you can put on your list, I have put together some of my favourite luxury gifts.
Steampod
If you have hair and don’t already have a steampod, this 100% needs to be top of your Christmas list. This is honestly the best hair tool I own. I bought this over a year ago in Shush Hair and have used it more or less non stop since.
Basically it is a hair straightener that uses steam and heat to smooth and straighten your hair. It is different to the GHD because not only does it straighten quicker, but it leaves your hair smoother than I have ever experienced with the GHD and the straightness genuinely lasts until you wash your hair again. Because it works faster, you’re using less heat on your hair and it isn’t as damaging on the hair as other straighteners can be. I have used a lot of different straightening tools and honestly nothing comes even close to this. You can pick it up in Look Fantastic for €164.95 but order asap to have it in time for Christmas.
Jo Malone Christmas Gift set
Jo Malone is one of those brands that we don’t tend to splash out on for ourselves but love to receive as a gift. I have found two gift sets worth splashing the cash on for the loved ones in your life. The first gift set is €139 and contains 30ml Lime & Basil Cologne, body and a 250ml hand wash and a 250ml body and hand lotion. Not bad innings. You can pick it up here.
However, if you find yourself travelling through the airport, The Loop have an airport exclusive Jo Malone set for €77.80. It contains a 30ml Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne, 50ml Wood Sage and Sea Salt Body Crème and 100ml Wood Sage and Sea Salt Hand and Body Wash . If you’re not travelling yourself, maybe try get someone to buy it for you on their way home or use the click and collect service. You can buy it online, give the person travelling details and they can collect it in the arrivals hall on their return. You can find the airport exclusive here.
Visearts palette
You probably haven’t heard of the Visearts range of palettes before, but these palettes are a firm favourites amongst makeup lovers. The Viseart palettes are said to have incredible colour payoff and longevity. There are 12 all matte shadows in each palette and there are 8 palettes to choose from. The only down side with these palettes seems to be the price because at €73.80, they’re not cheap!! You can buy them here from beauty bay.
UGG Slippers
Yes I know this is incredibly boring and boarding on old lady but these slippers are the absolute business. They are literally like putting your feet in clouds! Or at least what I imagine clouds to be like. They also last ages but I recommend buying a darker colour as my original pair were a light pink and got dirty very quickly. You can buy a pair from Arnotts for €90.
Hollywood Mirror
If you follow me on snapchat (@thebeauttruth) you will know that my Hollywood mirror is my pride and joy. I received my mirror as a gift from my mom and dad a few years ago and it has taken pride of place in my beauty room since. The quality of this mirror really is exceptional and the bulbs are the perfect colour and brightness for putting makeup on. I’ve also had mine 2 years now and I still haven’t lost a bulb!! It is expensive at €342 but it is worth it!!! You can order from Illuminated mirrors but you will have to call them to arrange delivery.
Chupi Gold initial necklace
My want for one of these is so strong. I spotted this months ago on Katrina from Push makeups snapchat and ever since, I have dropped hints with my husband left right and centre but to no avail. Basically you can get the necklace in gold, rose gold and silver with your birthstone on it. You can pick the amount of initials you have on it, but it would be such a thoughtful gift for a someone who has had a baby, or getting married or even just someone who likes sentimental Christmas gifts! You can order them from the Chupi website for €109.
Marc Jacobs recruit saddle bag
If you’re ready for a serious splurge, you honestly can’t go wrong with a handbag and the Marc Jacobs recruit saddle bag really is a beauty. You can pick it up in Brown Thomas for €400
LanaiBlo hair dryer
The LanaiBlo hair dryer hit the market a few months ago to quite the storm. However, now that it has all calmed down, I can hand on heart tell you that this is an absolutely brilliant hairdryer. Firstly it is very powerful. It genuinely cuts the time it take to dry your hair. On top of that, the special technology does take some of the fuzz out of your hair when you’re drying it. It is also lightweight, has a really long lead and it fits in your hand perfectly. Not only that but it comes in three colours, white, pink and black and you can get your name printed onto it! All of €99. If you fancy sticking a LanaiBlo on your Christmas list, you can order it directly from the LanaiBlo website here.
Makeup brush set
Makeup brushes are always a fantastic item to add to your list. Sometimes it can be hard know exactly which ones to get but amongst my favourite are Nima brush. There literally is a set to suit everyone on the Nima website. If you’re in the market for a kit that covers all the basics, The Starter kit is a fantastic option. However, if you fancy a real splurge you can get the 18 piece Artist kit for €149.99 or the entire Artist collection for €250. You can also use the code thebeautifultruth for 15% off everything except website exclusives and the build it up set. You can find out more here. If however you fancy building your own set full of different brushes, I have a post here, that details all my favourite brushes.
Fitbit blaze
If you fancy kicking off the new year with a little bit of exercise, I highly recommend the Fitbit blaze for Christmas. Not only does this watch track your every stope, but it monitors heart rate, calories, sleep and exercise. While it doesn’t have a GPS, when linked with the app it can track your route taken while out walking or running. You can pick this up on Argos.co.uk for €190 compared with €229 on the Irish site!
