Before I begin this post, I need to put my hands up and admit to the fact that I have problem with it comes to buying eye shadow. You see the thing is, when you’re not suppose to be buying makeup, €10 for a Mac eyeshadow or €6 for an Inglot shadow, doesn’t really impact your bank balance all that much, but at the same time you get your little makeup buying fix. I will put it to you this way, I buy new eyeshadows for a night out, the way some people buy shoes!! I’m actually saving myself money if you really think about it.
When it comes to buying shadows, I buy all my shadows in pan form. I don’t have the space to be storing eyeshadows in their original container and it is also much cheaper to buy the shadow in pan form. If you’re buying all Mac eyeshadows, you can buy the Mac palette, but the palette itself costs €18.50 with the 15 shadow insert costing €3.50. Not massively expensive, but when you buy as many shadows as I do, you’re gonna want more storage.
The Make Up For Ever palette, is the answer to our prayers. Costing only €22, this magnetic based palette holds up to 45 Mac eyeshadows. Yes you heard me correctly, 45 eyeshadows!!! Not only that, once your eyeshadow or blusher has a magnetic bottom to it, this palette can hold any shape ! For my shadows that don’t have magnetic bottoms, I bought magnetic stickers from ebay and stuck them to the bottom so that they would stay in place in the palette.
As the palette is Ultra thin, it allows easy storage and also it fits into your bag for travelling and takes up very little space. I honestly can’t say how much space in my drawers this palette has saved me.
