March Powder Pocket Box

This is the 2nd month of my Powder pocket box subscription. For those of you that don’t already know, Powder Pocket are an Irish subscription box that costs €15 a month. One of the things that I really like about Powder Pocket is that they took the money from my account on Monday and I had the box on Friday. This to me is a much better practice, as Glossybox takes it up to 3 weeks before and Chic Treat Club you have to pay 3 months minimum up front.

So onto the contents of this box. If I am honest, this box had some really good things, but also real clanger. It is a million times better than March’s Glossybox, but there are one or two things that I didn’t like. Have a look at the contents and tell me what you think.

Lavera 2 in 1 Hair and Body Wash

I hadn’t actually heard of this brand before, but it does smell very good. It is said to cleanse the hair and body without the use of synthetic ingredients and parabens. I really like the idea of this, because I am trying to watch what I use on my hair and body and I am tending to try and lean more towards natural ingredients. However, I don’t normally like to use 2 in 1 products on my hair. I will have a look on Lavera website and check out the other products in their range. A full bottle of this costs 200ml, which gives this 30ml sample a value of around €1 mark.

Ginvera BB Cream

I personally am not a fan of BB creams, but in saying that I do think this is a good inclusion in the box. It is A decent sample size of a more expensive product, which to me is what samples in subscription boxes are suppose to be about. This particular BB cream has gotten some good reviews, so I think I will try this one out, rather than dump it into my sample box. A full size is 25ml and costs €21, valuing this 8g around €6.72.

Waterwipes

I have heard a few things about these online. People that don’t normally like face wipes have have said that these are actually pretty good for when you just can’t bothered with the rigmarole of lotions and potions. These wipes are said to be really mild on the skin and can be used on both eyes and sensitive skin. They are alcohol, freangrance, lanolin, colorant ad perfume free. Sounds good. These will be great for weekends away, when I can’t haul all my skincare routine with me. A packet of water wipes will set you back €3.49 and can be bought in Tesco, Dunnes and supervalu.

Ghost Permune sample

So this is where I have a problem. I absolutely hate sample perfumes viles being put in subscription boxes. Even though this actually does smell nice, there is no place for it in my powder pocket box.  I can easily walk into any department store and ask for a sample for free. Sample sizes like this should not be pawned off as our 5th product in our box. To me this is a cop out and just not good enough. It is one of the main things that has turned me off Glossybox. I really hope this isn’t going to be a common feature with Powder pocket.

Shiseido Perfect Rough Lipstick

This is by far the star product from the box and one that I am very impressed with. This type of product is exactly what I expect to see in a subscription box. It is the most gorgeous blue toned red colour that is right down my street. I actually stuck it on my lips straight after photographing it. It is really rich colour and so smooth on the lips. It seemed very forgiving of any lines around the lips and wore of beautifully throughout the afternoon. I don’t know if I would fork out €27, not because of the product, but down to the fact I just couldn’t justify that for a lippy for myself. That is why I am chuffed it was in the box. A high end treat for myself.

Over all I am happy with the box. If the perfume sample hadn’t been included I would have thought this was a fantastic box. The sample just rubbed me up the wrong way. This box was miles better than my March Glossybox. Out of all the boxes that are available to Ireland, I do feel that Powder pocket is more high end then any of the others. To me it just encapsulates exactly what a subscription box should be. High end treats and samples, that you wouldn’t normally treat yourself to

I would love to know what you think of the contents. Have any of you subscribed to Powder Pocket yet?

I share a lot of the same thoughts as you, I hate seeing perfume samples, but the stand out product for me was the lipstick, brilliant product which made the box I think!

I hope they take this on board, because it is something that would make me cancel a box

I hate the sample perfume thing as well but the lipstick is a fab addition. One of my personal favourite lipsticks

I don’t think everything in a box can be as good as the lipstick, but some of the stuff like the perfume sample is just not good at all. I do like the power pocket box more than my Glossybox.

The lipstick for me was a beige shade… Being pale it just makes me look like a ghost, not happy at all with it 🙁

Lipstick is a very personal choice and color is key to skin tone , face wipes u can but for nothing and then the Ghost perfume sample so dated and a cheap ploy to fill a box . Definitely not excited by powder pocket , Birch box is far superior , jus saying

Birch box is a great box. I like powder pocket, but I agree with the perfume sample
