I am such a lipstick lover. For so long, I thought it fine to rock a no product lip, but now it would be a very rare day you would catch me without a splash of lipstick on my lips. However, even though I love wearing lipstick, I don’t have time during the day to constantly be topping it up, so long lasting lipstick is a must for me.
When testing out lipstick I don’t worry about longevity while eating too much, as I find most lipsticks wear off while munching . Instead I rather how it wears during all my talking throughout the day. Does it transfer onto cups, teeth etc and also how comfortable it is to wear. With that in mind, I have been trying out the Max Factor Lipfinity Long lasting lipsticks over the past few weeks.
Max Factor promises that you can get up to 8 hours wear from the Lipfinity lipsticks. They have vibrant colours with great pigment and due to the lipsticks being infused with nourishing oils, the long lasting propoties won’t dry out or crack your lips. A tall order!!
While these lipsticks are long wearing, they aren’t 8 hours long wearing. I did find though that I could get a good 4 hours wear out of them without having to top up. They wore down evenly and left your lips a little stained so that you weren’t completely bare.
I also found them to be very comfortable. When I first applied them, I thought there was no way these were going to be long wearing as they were more not the creamy side than most long wearing lipsticks . The just slide onto the lips with no tugging or pulling and the colour transferred easily.
I found the pigment of the lipsticks varied from shade to shade. The darkest shade ( I think it is number 5173. There are no shade names on these lipsticks) was by far the most pigmented, with the red shade, number 5083, the least pigmented. In saying that, it still packed good punch when it came to colour vibrancy. There are 12 shades to pick from and from what I can gather they have names on them on the Boots site, unlike my samples.
I have to say, over the past few weeks I have worn these lipsticks quite a bit, especially the darkest shade. I really liked how they wore, how comfortable they were on the lips and the 3 colours were beautiful. Overall, even though they are on the high side price wise when it comes to budget lipsticks. They are well worth trying out. You can pick them up on any ax Factor stand or online here.
