Mother’s day gift ideas

How am I writing about Mother’s day gifts already? Seriously it feels like I was only just picking out Christmas gifts!! this year is flying by!!!

Mother’s day is one of those events where more often than not a box of chocolates just won’t cut it and will probably leave you in the dog house for a few days!! To help you avoid a quick dash to the local petrol station on Mother’s day, I have put together a selection of gifts to suit all different budgets.

Shampoo and Conditioner

Yes I know this is rather random, but investing in a good shampoo and conditioner is key for great looking locks. Very often our mothers make do with the supermarket bought shampoo and while they do the job, there really is nothing like a salon bought shampoo and conditioner to give your hair shine, strength and great condition.

One brand that I find is a real all rounder and doesn’t break the bank, is Joico. I have personally been using Joico for years and it has always been a brand I swore by to get really good looking hair.  They have recently launched the new colour infuse shampoo and conditioners which is said to help prolong your colour and fight the dreaded fading of colour in between salon visits. YSL Touche Eclat Gift set

The YSL Touche Eclat is a real cult classic and a great one for any ladies that like to highlight and also brighten up the under eye area. This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray set

I absolutely swear by this stuff for helping to fall asleep. In fact I have to hide it from my husband, as he finds it fantastic for helping him sleep and ends up spraying half the bottle on his pillow. Basically the Deep Sleep Pillow spray is a spray for the four corners of your pillow that is packed full of ingredients to help you doze off naturally. Perfume

Perfume is a good safe option. Who doesn’t love to receive a bottle of perfume. Perfume is one of those things that we never buy for ourselves. This year Lancome have the La vie eat belle 30ml set, which includes a 50ml body lotion for €57. You can pick it up on Lancome counters.

Spa Day

Nothing says happy Mother’s day than a bit of quality time together and some pampering. A lot of the time I include venues that are in and around Dublin, so for today’s gift guide I am going a little further a field.  The Estuary Spa at Faithlegg House Hotel in co Waterford have a number of packages available to have yourself and your mother feeling all refreshed. For every gift voucher bought, they will add on an extra 10% value so you can get a little more bang for your buck. You can even throw in an afternoon tea, which I can tell you is absolutely delish, but make sure to go with an empty stomach because you will want to eat more than one scone with clotted cream!!!
