My top 3 powder highlighters

DSC_5788Lets face it, when it comes to highlighters the more glow I can get the better. Lately I am an absolute fiend for highlighters and I am constantly on the hunt for a new, better product. I have to partly blame Jaclyn Hill for my highlighter obsession, as that girl always has the most unbelievable glow. In fact on July 2nd she is releasing her own highlighter with Becca Cosmetics, in the shade Champagne Pop. I mean just look at it.!!! I have already set a reminder in my phone to buy it the day it comes out, as this baby will sell out fast!

Inglot Sparkling Dust

DSC_5798If you’re someone who likes a strong highlight, then this is the highlighter for you. As the name suggests this is a loose sparkling dust that can be applied to your cheekbones, brow bone and all over your body. A little bit of this dust goes a very long way and when applied with a fan brush, it gives your skin a serious glow. For me this is more of a night time highlighter, for those times that you really want to amp up your makeup, rather than just a hint of a glow. I find if I wear this during the day, my glow is a little too obvious, but that is just a personal preference.

Screen Shot 2015-06-23 at 21.01.32Like most Inglot products, the Sparkling dust isn’t going to break the bank. A pot will set you back €20, but my god it will last forever. It comes in a range of colours, but number 1 and 2 would be most suited to Irish skin tones.

You can read a full review of the Inglot sparkling dust here.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

DSC_5800The Mary Lou Manizer is nothing short of a cult classic and it is not hard to see why. This highlighter is divine. The Mary Lou Manizer is a smooth, buttery and extremely pigmented highlighter. It is a beautiful champagne colour, that would look gorgeous on fair to medium dark toned skin. It is has a beautiful shimmer to it, without a hint of glitter in sight. This gives full on beautiful glowy skin, but it is easy to go a little over board with it, so a light hand is needed

Screen Shot 2015-06-23 at 21.03.06For a very long time this was my favourite highlighter that I owned, but I tend to switch my favourite over and back between this one and the Becca highlighter below.

The Mary Lou Manizer can be hard to get your hands on, but simply Foxy sell it here for €20.50.

Becca shimmering Skin Perfector

DSC_5804Right now this highlighter is my life. It is beyond divine. I simply just can’t get enough of it. The Becca shimmering skin perfector comes in 2 shades, Moonstone which I use and Opal, which is a little darker. On July 2nd Jaclyn Hills limited edition champagne pop will also be added to the range.

Screen Shot 2015-06-23 at 21.06.09The Becca Shimmering skin perfector pressed in the shade Moonstone, is a shimmering golden powder highlighter that is the perfect colour for Irish skin tones. This is a creamy, soft and smooth highlighter that is very finely milled and with the right brush it applies to the skin like a dream. It is important to use a light hand when applying this highlighter as the colour payoff is unreal and you only need the smallest amount to get a gorgeous natural glow. I love using the Blank Canvas fan brush to apply this to the cheekbones. I run the brush quickly over and back on the areas where I want the highlighter to apply. I find that I get the best result from the highlighter using it this way.

It is on the more expensive side, but in my eyes it is so worth it. You can buy it in SpaceNK on Grafton street, or online here for €37. You can read a full review here.

I love Mary Lou, I only started using highlighter this year and I’m addicted!! It’s on sale for 17.50 at Cloud Ten until Sunday. I love the look of the two Becca ones, the Jaclyn Hill one looks like it’s going to sell fast!
