I love a good nude!! I mean who doesn’t. What I love even more is a nude that lasts and lately I have found myself reaching for a nude liquid lipstick to make sure my nude pout stays put throughout the day.
Liquid lipsticks seem to be THE product for 2015. Brands are falling over themselves to get their own range of liquid lipsticks to the market. With everyone jumping on the band wagon it is hard to sift through what works and what will leave your lips drier than than Ghandi’s flip flop.
Meet Matt(e) Hughes – Committed
There has been an awful lot of hype surrounding the Meet Matt(e) Huges collection for The Balm Cosmetics. Bloggers seem to have serious love for this range of long lasting liquid lipsticks. Those of you that have read the blog for a while will know I am always wary of blogger hype. Yes I know that sounds very hypocritical, but when everyone is raving about something it tends to turn me off things. However, the hype for the Meet Matt(e) Huges collection is totally worth it.These liquid Lipsticks are fantastic!!
I picked up the colour committed in Debenhams on Henry street. We can now finally get our hands on The Balm in store and hopefully it will roll out to more Debenhams nationwide soon. Committed is a pinky nude colour that is extremely long wearing. I find that I would get a good 4 hours wear, including eating and drinking, before the colour begins to fade. It doesn’t feel drying on the lips and is easily removed, unlike a lot of liquid lipsticks. One thing I don’t like is the smell. It has a very minty smell, which does turn me off a little. Personally I don’t like fragrance in my lip products. In saying that, it won’t put me off buying more and the next colour on my list is Charming!
You can buy the Meet Matt(e) Huges collection in a selection of Debenhams or online from Cloud10beauty.com
Anastasia Beverly Hill Liquid Lipstick – Pure Hollywood
This liquid lipstick was my go to shade this summer. I had a pure obsession with it from the second I bought it in Florida.Pure Hollywood is a cool toned nude pink. In fact it has peach undertones so it is closer to your lip colour with a touch of pink to it. I love wearing this with Mac Soar lipliner all over the lips and then Pure Hollywood on top. It really is such a beautiful colour.
I found Pure Hollywood to be very long wearing and again I would get a good 3 or 4 hours or solid colour wear out of it. It is also comfortable to wear on the lips. However, be warned if you try to top it up during the day, it will get a little flaky on the lips, so I tend to wait till it has completely worn off before reapplying.
This can be hard to get your hands on and mostly it has to be ordered from the Anastasia Beverly Hills website directly. I just live in hope that Cult Beauty extend their ABH range. You can buy it here for €20
Sleek Matte Me – Birthday Suit
Of the three nude liquid lipsticks, this is my most recent purchase. I picked this up on a whim a few weeks ago when I wanted new makeup, but didn’t have that much to spend. I had heard a lot of bloggers talking about these matte liquid lipsticks and I thought I would pick one up to see what they were like.
Of all three liquid lipsticks, this one is definitely the most comfortable to wear. Don’t get me wrong, they are all rather lovely to wear, but this one in particular is lovely on the lips. Depending on your skin tone, this nude colour will show up differently. On me it is more of a darker brown nude colour, but I really really love how it looks.
Like that other two lipsticks, this is quite matte and it dries on the lips within around 30 seconds and genuinely lasts for ages and ages on lips. The only down side with Birthday suit is the applicator. It is not good at all. In saying that, it can be worked around to get a really beautiful looking finish, that lasts at least 5 hours!!
You can buy sleek from many Pharmacies, including Boots Ireland for €6.49. or online here.
I really have to apologise for this post, as your wallet is probably going to take a little hammering, because you honestly can’t pick between the 3 and infact need all of them in your life!!!

October 13, 2015 at 9:50 pmHi Sinead LOVE your blog is starting to become my go to place when buyin New make up!! 🙂 can you advise what kinda nude lippy would suit someone who is uber pale, blue eyes and dark hair. I do like pink toned lipstick, but I don’t think they are actually nudes…. end up being more statement lip than subtle! Any help would be greatly appreciate!
P.s loving the look of committed….!

October 13, 2015 at 10:07 pmThese look fab but I hate that drying feeling on my lips so generally stick to a creamy lipstick. I might give one a whirl and see how it goes!
