October Favourites

DSC_2253My October favourites are a little late this month, but better late than never. This month I found myself stepping outside of my comfort zone of products, and trying lots of new products, as well as some old favourites. I was especially trying some new things when it came to base and lips.

Wet N Wild Mega last lipsticks

DSC_2258I am a massive fan of the Wet N Wild Mega last lipsticks. These lipsticks are a semi matte lipstick, yet they don’t wear like a matte. Instead they are creamy on the lips, long wearing, pigmented, and comfortable on the lips. I can’t say enough good things about these lipsticks. For the past month I have been reaching for these two colours over and over again.  Mauve outta here is a medium cool toned pink. This colour is perfect if you want colour on your lips without being too out there. While, Bare it all is a medium/ light warm nude colour. This is a beautiful nude colour that isn’t too brown or too pink, but just right. It is perfect for wearing during the day, as it is long lasting and when it does wear away, it doesn’t leave the lips looking funny. Both these lipsticks cost €2.99 and  can be found on any Wet N Wild stand in Dunnes . You can read all about the Mega Last Lipsticks here

Mac Margin Blusher

DSC_2240This was recently recommended to be by a makeup artist called Aoife Troy, and when she described just how beautiful it was, I had to go out and buy it. Margin is a dirty peach colour, with a little bit of shimmer to it. This blusher just really gives my cheeks life. I love it for adding a bit of a glow to my face and it has more or less not left my cheeks for most of this month. Do not be put off by the shimmer, as it is just so beautiful. This is the perfect colour for giving you that winter glow and it is a must have blusher.

Armani Maestro

DSC_2024This is a foundation I never thought I would like, but have ended up loving it. Maestro is a water based, long wearing foundation that is very light on the skin and wears unbelievably well during the day. Every time I wear this and I get compliments on my skin. This is a foundation for oily or normal skinned ladies, as it does tend to cling to any dry areas. You can read all about it here.

Inglot 230

DSC_2249Oh Lordy, this lipstick. I really have a weakness for blue toned reds. They just do it for me and Inglot 230 is no exception to this. This is  a beautiful blue toned red, that glides onto the lips like a dream and is very long wearing. I find it tends to lean a little on the pink side of red, which makes it even better for my skin tone. Like all Inglot lipsticks it costs €14 and can now be bought online here.

Mac Pro long wear concealer

DSC_2259Since I went back to work in September, my dark circles are out of control. While I have many concealers that do a good job covering them, this month Mac pro Long wear is what has worked best for me. I love this concealer. It gives really good coverage under the eyes. It gets rid of the rotten blue colour from dark circles and more or less hides them completely. While this concealer lasts for most of the day without needed to retouch. I do find that it has a tendency to move and crease, so setting is an absolute must. If it does crease, I just run my ring finger lightly under my eye, it will reset the concealer again. Mac Naked Pigment

DSC_2264I had heard bloggers rave about this for a long time, but Mac pigments are so expensive, that I held off. I got this smaller size as part of a make Christmas set, and having now tried it I get the hype and would buy the large size over and over. I love this for brightening up my cream eyeshadow. I apply this with a flat brush to my lid and it really makes cream eyeshadow pop and give your eyes are real awake look. Mac have released their Holiday sets, and I can’t recommend their pigment and glitter sets. They are fantastic value and a last for ages.

Estée Lauder Perfectionist

DSC_2263You’re probably sick of hearing me go on about this foundation, but honestly it is just that good. Perfectionist leaves your skin looking like velvet. It wears well throughout the day, and is incredibly light on the skin. Not only that, but it gives your skin the most beautiful glow, making it perfect for winter skin. It is a little on the expensive side, so make sure to get a sample before buying.  You can read all about it here.

Estée Lauder Double wear

DSC_2265It really was a month for foundations. I change my foundation up every few days, so I get a chance to try out loads of different foundations throughout the month. Double wear was my holy grail foundation for a long time, but for some reason I stopped wearing it in favour of a lighter more natural looking foundation. Double wear is a full coverage, hard working foundation. When applied to the skin it lasts all day long. I doesn’t  break down and literally stays in place until you take it off. I wear a good primer with it, and make sure that my skin is extremely hydrated, as it does have a tendency to go a little cakey if your skin isn’t prepped properly. I carry Mac fix plus in my bag when I wear this and spritz my face through out the day, so that it doesn’t  go dry looking.
