Pestle and Mortar Erase and Renew Double cleansing system

They say not all products are created equal and when it comes to cleaners this is definitely true. I have been through my fair share of cleansers since starting The Beautiful Truth, some were awful and some great. However, nothing has blown me away the way the Pestle and Mortar Erase and renew Double cleansing system has.

I am very lazy when it comes to taking my makeup off and when I saw a double cleanse system coming through the door, I was doubtful if I would actually use it, as it seemed like a lot of effort. I honestly thought, who has the time for cleaning their face twice? However, I am now a serious convert to double cleansing.

It is a common belief, that cleansing your skin is the most important part of your skincare regime. When your skin is cleansed throughly, it gives a clean slate for your other products to work on your skin. When double cleansing, the role of the first cleanser is to remove all dirt and makeup, while the second cleanser gives a deeper clean to you skin. Double cleansing is only really required on the days that you have been wearing makeup and therefore you can get away with your regular cleanser in the morning.

When it comes to the Pestle and Mortar Erase and Renew Double cleansing system, the first step is the Erase makeup removing balm.  This balm starts as a solid in the tub but quickly changes into a balm once warmed up and applied to the skin. I have tried a few different balms  and cleansing oils over the past few years and nothing comes close to how luxurious this feels on the skin. You apply it directly to dry skin and it literally melts the makeup off your face in seconds. I love the feel of massaging this balm into my skin . I am not a fan of oily products on my face and this certainly does not feel that way. Instead it feels unbelievably luxurious. Once you have massaged all the erase balm into your face, you can remove it with the damped muslin side of the cloth that is provided. The second step in this double cleanse system is the renew illuminating gel cleanser. The ingredients included in this gel cleanser mean that it should hydrate your skin, tighten pores, help with fine lines and pigmentation and even help prevent wrinkles!!! Again this applied to dry skin and massaged into the skin but this time it is removed with the product with the damped softer side of the the cloth.

This double cleanse system comes with a tall order of promises, but I can had on heart tell you that it is amazing!! I love this duo! It is super fast to use and leaves your skin feeling incredibly clean. It also leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and plump. Honest to god, this system has really taken me so by surprise and I’ve fallen hard for it.

However, there is one downside and that is the price. It is expensive at €76 but I have had to come to terms with the fact, that a lot of the time you get what you pay for! You can now however, repurchase the products individually! Thank god, as I think I will run out of the balm before I do the gel. To repurchase individually they are €43 each. However, I currently have a 20% non affiliate discount code for Molloys Lifestyle pharmacy, that makes the complete system a more palatable €60.80 and the individual products €34.40. The code is Beautiful20 You can find all of the Pestle and Mortar products on the Molloys Lifestyle Pharmacy site here.

Hi Sinead, really like your article on cleansing system, I currently using pestle and mortar retinol night oil for the past year and I totally love it, I have tried other brands as recommend by others but I have came back to this brand. I’m currently finishing off my Emma Hardie cleaning balm, and I’m going to try pestle and mortar as recommend by you, any chance you could advise on the 20% discussing code.
