Over the past few months I have noticed a change in the makeup world. Many of the top makeup artists are moving away from the the heavily contoured look, in favour of a gentle bronzed glow. Even the Kardashians themselves, the catalyst for the heavily contoured look, are backing away from the contouring powders and cream and instead opting for a little more of a natural look.
Physicians Formula have a massive range of bronzers to pick from and for some weeks now I have been trying out a number of the them to see which ones work best for me. If you follow me on snapchat ( @thebeauttruth) you may have seen me talk about a few of them and give the low down on which ones I love and which just fell short for me. To help you in your search, I have picked out my favourites and detailed them below.
Physicians Formula is a brand that is relatively new to Ireland. While easily available in the States, it can be little hard to get your hands on here and that is why you might possibly have not heard too much about it before. You can however find it is a selection of pharmacies which I have linked here or online on Dollup.ie. I have been a fan of Physicians Formula since it came to Ireland nearly two years ago and two of their products have made my Holy grail list already, the Liquid liner and the shimmer strip eyeliner trios . Both of these products I have repurchased a number of times, with the black eyeliner from the trio being a die hard favourite of mine. Honestly, I am yet to find a pencil liner that is as long wearing or as black! However, I now feel that I am about to add at least one bronzer to this holy grail list!!
First up is the Bronze Booster Glow boosting pressed bronzer. Bit of a mouthful!! This is a light coverage, matte finish bronzer than comes in two shades, Light/ medium and medium/Dark. I have been using the light/ medium and find that the light coverage is perfect for warming up the skin with a hint of colour rather than a full on wash of bronze. The colour is lovely and warm and natural on the skin without looking muddy. The packaging includes a little mirror and a brush, but personally I prefer to use my Buff and Blend BB01 brush to apply all my bronzers. This bronzer is €19.90 and can be picked up here.
Next up is the Glow Boosting season to season bronzer. This was a real favourite of mine for a very long time and I have many beauty bloggers love it. It has an iridescent finish and again comes in two shades, Light/ medium and medium/Dark. You can wear each section individually or I like to mix them all up to give the skin a beautiful glow. This is also €19.90 and can be bought here.
The third bronzer I have picked out is the mineral glow pearls. I found this to be a little different from the others, as while it can be worn on it’s own, I personally didn’t get enough colour from it this way. Instead, I wore it over other bronzers to give a bronze glow, rather than my usual highlighter glow. The little pearls work together to give the skin a really lovely healthy summer glow. This one is a little cheaper at €17.90 and can be picked up here.
The finally bronzer I have genuinely fallen hard for . Oh god I really love this. The 2 in 1 bronzer and highlighter is simply divine on the skin. It is the perfect shade for my skin tone and goes on lovely and light but at the same time can be built up into a stronger colour if you so desire. The hint of a highlighter just gives the skin a beautiful glow. Honestly I can’t sing high enough praise for this. It is €19.90 and can be bought here.
Price wise Physicians formula is falling in-between a drugstore price and high end price, but in my honestly opinion they are worth spending the few bob on, especially the 2 in 1 bronzer and highlighter.
If you fancy winning a €100 worth of Physicians Formula Goodies, you can enter here. You must however have also liked the Physicians Formula Ireland Facebook page.
** This is a collaboration with Physicians Formula Ireland. However, that doesn’t change my opinions on the above bronzers!!!
