Thank you for the review. I’m thinking about getting this for my parents, especially my dad, who stresses a lot and I’ve seen there is a ‘stress less’ version.

Since you mentioned your boyfriend likes it too, do you think that it does work? Or could it be ‘psuedopsychology’ – it’s purely mental? I don’t know if I’m reading into this too much *ahem* paranoid but I might try this out on my brother if I order it, yes, he’s my guinea pig. 😉

Hi Hannah, Thanks for your comment. I think there is a small part of it that just because you use it you fall asleep quicker. However I really think it works. I’ve been going through a really stressful time the last few months and this stuff has been a life changer for my sleep. I love it and highly recommend it.

Can’t say I’m a fan when anyone talks about brow products but thats purely because I need mine done and to be taught how to wear makeup on them, my god I look so shocked when I go near them lol! Lastly (My god I’m rabbiting on!) Inglot is something I hear raved about and have had a quick look at their stands before, but those colours are so beautiful they might have just given me that extra push to go and have a proper look/sneaky buy of some.

These posts are always interesting, and some of them seem to be love or hate products, especially the Chanel, or the Estee Lauder. I’ve never tried Double Wear Light, but the 1 Chanel polish I have, it’s got fairly good staying power. Not great, but not the worst ever.Would I pay that price for a collection of them? No chance.

I have a bit of a Chanel fetish but I agree with you, they have fantastic colurs but the formula is horrendous for the price. Saying that I have a lot of the polishes, I just can’t help myself when it comes to some of the colours. I haven’t tried the Rimmel foundation myself but I know that Becky loves it… but then she does have perfect skin 😉

Probably best just buy a different one 😉 I’m with you on the Chanel polish, very chippy for the price. I definitely wouldn’t try the hair powder, the bloody spray leaves my hair feeling gross and grey, so I imagine the powder would have a similar effect! Great post.

I read somewhere that Glossybox don’t put the same products in the box for their irish customers and that’s why I never signed up. if we’re paying as much as the uk customers we should get the same and I have a feeling the uk customers wouldn’t have been sent those little sachets of tan. seriously if this was free fair enough but it’s something you are PAYING for! Surely your paid custom is worth more than the same ol same ol products and barely enough false tan for your big toe!

Some of the products are different, drives me insane. They really seem like they don’t care anymore. I know an awful lot of people that have canceled, as they are just sick of the rubbish in them. When you look at whats in the Powder Pocket box and chic treat club, there is no comparison

Ugh, no. I wouldn’t use anything in that box at all bar the mascara, and I wouldn’t be happy paying €15 for a trial size. I don’t live near any branch of The Body Shop, so that voucher wouldn’t be used, I don’t use tan and have a favourite scrub, so the cube wouldn’t be used. The Nia thing doesn’t appeal to me, and the fat-shifting cream would want to be the size of an oil tanker to make mine dissolve. Also it’s not remotely brazilian themed?

The timing of the boxes really confuses me. I saw Powderpocket hyping this box up, and messaged them on July 1st to ask if I signed up now, what box would I receive – the answer was that I’d get the July box, but this is only the June one, so I’d be waiting until August?! I’ve logged on several times – probably every month – and almost bought a box, but no. I’m sticking to my original opinion, if I want to spend €15 on beauty products I’ll go to boots and get a 3 for 2 or buy one decent thing.

Thanks for a great, clear, honest review x

I really was thinking it was me being fussy, but when you put it like that i can really see that it wasn’t me at all but the box. The timing of the box is all over the place. It all just comes off very unprofessional.

Totally agree, I was so unimpressed by this box. The mascara was the only thing I was in anyway interested in. Also, I live in Wexford so the eyebrow threading voucher from The Body Shop is useless to me 🙁 Very disappointing, I have liked their previous boxes but this one was a huge let down!!!

For me this is the 2nd box that hasn’t been good. I did get good use out of last month’s box, but the lack of a full size product really let it down. I won’t use the threading voucher either. I really feel that they let themselves down with the contents and the late delivery.

I completely agree!! This months box was a total joke!! It’s basically theft just giving out samples and making people pay for it!! The only think I can use is the mascara too. And like many others, I’m pretty sure the closest Body Shop to me is 100 miles away so, the voucher is useless.. They make such big promises and they put so much effort into all the lovely packaging that it makes no sense to me why it would seem they don’t care about the content!! It’s such a pity.. I don’t want to have to unsubscribe!!

I love Sheer Glow. I use it in Mont Blanc and until my oily t zone went into overdrive this summer it was my holy grail. After that is didn’t last on my nose, but nothing did so it was no reflection on the foundation. I bought Hourglass Mineral Veil primer the other day & it is doing a brilliant job of stopping the oiliness so I can’t wait to try it out with sheer glow & see how they work together.

Hi Sinead, great blog! I just read the review of sheer glow, it sounds great, but I’m obsessed with Estée Lauder double wear at the moment as I love the coverage and that satin feel I get from it though I know people say it’s drying, and I have combination skin! Anyway, would it be similar to Estée Lauder in terms of coverage and longevity?
    Thanks!

Hi Maura, I used to wear Double wear myself as I loved the coverage, but I did find it a little cakey on line skin at times. While the coverage isn’t as full as double wear, I really feel that Nars has a really good level of coverage that you feel fully covered. Longevity wise all depends on the individual person, but bars lasts as long as double wear on me when used with a primer and setting powder

I do like the finish this foundation gives especially when buffed, but the colour wasn’t for me. I’m quite dark, so I bought the last shade on the wheel next to caramel. When I got it home & applied a full layer other than a tester patch on my cheek/neck area, I was fierce disappointed. It was a pink under tone, where as I’d be neutral/warm. It looked too pale. I won’t be investing in any other shades unfortunately.

Your hair looks gorgeous when you curled your extensions in. What a shame that it all drops out! The only other review I’ve read about this is from SoSueMe who absolutely RAVES about the Instyler. She wears Great Lengths extensions too so maybe that’s why :/

Anyhow, I’m so glad to have read an honest review on it anyway. Love your page!

Jackie they really really don’t damage your hair. The hairdresser will only put in the amount that your hair can handle. The bond is so light on the hair there is no dragging, pulling or breaking of your own hair. If you are in and around Dublin, or would even travel, you should go to Rachel. Honestly, she trained people in how to put these in.She is brilliant at what she does. The bonds are literally tiny

I debated buying them for months as they are expensive but finally took the plunge 3 weeks ago and am SOOOOO pleased I did. You were spot on in your comments. They are beautiful and really make my make up and bare foundation free skin look better. I’m 40 and anything that makes a significant difference is very welcome. Thanks for the great reviews. I was so excited about ordering it and was bursting to try it. I was gutted especially after paying just under €30. I now only use it to put a slight underline on the brows. The only thing I like is the nifty little spolie brush. My search continues

When applied it doesn’t have massive colour pay off, which some people might not like, but I think makes it perfect for contouring, as you can gently build the colour up to achieve the perfect sculpted look. […] I couldn’t do a post on highlighting products, with out including this absolute beauty from Inglot. This is right up there with my absolute favourite products. This is much more of a stronger more pigmented highlighter than any of the others and I use this for nighttime, or if I want a real glowy look during the day. The sparkling dust has a seriously reflective quality. However, it never looks glittery on the face, but instead reflects the light so beautifully. This is no disco ball highlighter, but in fact the most beautiful glow. It wears well throughout the day and never looks cakey on the skin. I use a small tapered powder brush when applying this, and lightly pick up the tiniest amount of product. Less is definitely more when it comes to this. You can read a full review here. […]

This haul; was actually from the March show. I thought the march show was better than the October one and i will 100% be going back again in march

Hi, they look great and am thinking of getting them before my wedding. I’d be worried about when the start to come out, would clumps fall out at any stage and do they reach a point say close to the 6 month mark where they start to look tatty and obvious that you have extensions? Thanks

hi Caoilfhionn, i can’t recommend them enough. Ill be getting mine out in jan/feb after around 6 months in. Due to all my money going on the wedding I’m gonna wait until around april/may to get them in again. Once thing when getting them in, is to go to someone who is good at doing them. I don’t know where you are located in the country, but honestly you should travel for rachel. She trained people in doing GL and puts in at least 3-4 sets a wee, most weeks its way more than that. The reason I would recommend her is, she knows exactly what she is doing. When they are applied right, they don’t come out in clumps at all. You might lose the odd bond, but that is only the odd time, and would come out when brushing your hair. You wouldn’t notice any difference at all in losing one bond, and really when they are applied right, you really should lose v few. I haven’t gotten to the 6 month mark with mine, but after 3 months, mine look great. They can take a bit of getting use to blow drying and straightening, but when you get use to them, they really are magic.

Hi Sarah, yeah it’s good to wash your hair everyday. when you first get them applied I think you have to wait 24-48 hours, but they give your hair a good wash so it lasts. The shampoo is 15 but you get at least a month out of it

I love the colours and the texture of them so much. I really didn’t see the point of spending more money on the Lorac palette when I can achieve the same looks with my Urabn Decays.

Just wanted you to know that you are not being charged by the company – the country that receives the shipment may decide to charge you tax. I live in the Netherlands and very rarely order ouside of the EU because I get charged tax for various items. When I asked the postal service why I am taxed on some items, they advised me that it is totally a random decision.

This is random unfortunately, ur package just got stopped, I’ve never had to pay customs, saying that though it could happen on my next package,(now most companies may not do this but a tip is to ask them to write on the package that its a gift or samples, but as I said they may not do this for you,(check the site, they may even specify that they won’t but u can always chance your arm!!

this happens cause of the SPF in your foundation. any foundation with SPF will flash back on your and make u look like Casper. you need a foundation with no SPF like mac pro long wear or studio fix

Great review Sinead, although I must be the only person that doesn’t really like this blusher!. I bought it about 8 months ago, and have barely used it. I just don’t think it gives enough colour pay off for the price. My go to blusher for the daytime is benefits ‘CORALista’. I LOVE this blusher. 🙂

Hi, I really would love to try some but as I suffer from very light hair I’m worried it will leave my hair worse. I would just live the back and sides of my hair to look a bit fuller when it’s down as it goes all see through. Can you just get a small amount put in that wouldn’t damage your own hair also I wear my hair up mostly during the week is this ok?

Personally I LOVE it!! I leave on for longer than recommended probably nearer to an hour than remove in the shower as you say in circular motions to also exfoliate. Straight after and the days following my skin is still looking good, super smooth and excuse the pun.. With a little glow to it. On the 5th to 6th day I can feel my skin crying out for it again. As you say every person skin is different but for me it’s well worth the spend and the pot lasts for ages!! Even better is knowing it’s all good ingredients to boot!!

Hi Snead. Thanks for your review. I bought the eye treatment earlier this year based on all the amazing reviews. I’ve REALLY bad dark circles under my eyes which is made worse by shift work and nights. Always trying to minimise them.as best I can. I thought the eye gel was useless, zero impact and it has those weeds in it as well. Like u it don’t know what purpose they can serve. Very disappointed as it’s an expensive product. Definitely not a repurchase.

The box itself looks beautiful but to be honest if I had received it I would be disappointed. I have several W7 nail polishes, don’t use tan, brow stencils or false nails, and I don’t think Fuschia belongs anywhere near a beauty box. Now in saying that, that’s just me – I’m sure lots of people were delighted with it, and I will say that they’ve thought out a “party season” box really well, they thought of everything from tan to nails so fair play to them for that. I do still think they are by far the strongest of all the subscription boxes, this particular one just wouldn’t be my cup of tea at all.

After trawling the internet for information on CrossFit and Slimming world I stumbled across this! I am desperate to lose weight and join CrossFit, however all the dietary advice I can find on-line in relation to CrossFit is linked to a full on paleo diet. I like the idea of this, however I am a girl that loves her carbs, in particular potatoes (not too fussed for bread or wheat products) and I am rather interested in how you adapted your Slimming-World diet to meet the needs of your CrossFit training. Please so share as I can’t wait to begin my CrossFit journey!

Also looking forward to hearing how you get on – I wish I’d done this before my wedding day. I despise my teeth, they’re crooked and they’re nowhere near white, plus I also have a false front tooth because of messing with a bicycle and having a bad fall when I was around 14. I’m so conscious of them, I think I have four photos max of me smiling – and they’ve probably been retouched with software, being completely honest. I hate my teeth so much, they’re on my list for 2015, have to sort something so really interested to hear how the fast braces work x

In saying that, that is not a fault of the pen, and it is a great colour for daytime, but I love a jet black colour when going out at night. As the nib did such a good job creating a winged line, I found that at night, I would draw in the liner using the Borderlines pen and then go over it with my Inglot gel liner in no 77. […]

Hi Sinead, I just started a fashion & lifestyle page for ladies in their late 30s & early 40s – aimed mainly at working Mums/career ladies who dont want to compromise on style etc and am always looking for new tips/tricks to share. Having recently been out in a club & had my bag of MAC makeup robbed out of my bag (yes they left the phone & wallet because lets face it – the contents of that make-up were worth WAY more!!:-) ) I’ve been searching for some new brush alternatives which are more affordable. Came across Blank Canvas this week which I referenced on my page and then someone recommended Nima to me also. I’ve really enjoyed your reviews so I think I’m going to take the plunge and order one or two to get my brush collection back on track again – interested in the ‘grace’ but for the more mature lady (darker circles under eyes & more creases) do you think its a little too big & maybe another would work better for concealer?
Happy to share your FB page on mine as well – great to support the Irish in terms of bloggers & products 😉
    All the best!

My top NYX picks and a chance to win €100 worth of NYX products
    January 21, 2015 at 7:45 am

[…] The NYX blusher are fantastic value for such a great little product. They are seriously pigmented and 1 quick swipe of your brush picks up loads of product and creates a natural sheer finish to the cheeks. However, the colour is buildable if you want a more full on look. They can be a little chalky on the chalky side, but if you apply a small amount of product and build up to your desired colour, the work out really well. The key is not to go in heavy handed. There are 27 colours in the range, but only 12 are available in Ireland. A cult favourite that I am yet to get my hands on, is Taupe. This is said to be the ultimate contouring product for fair skin. These blushers cost €7.49 and you can read a full review here. […]

    Hello,

I saw someone comment about Moogoo at the top of the page and I had to leave a comment. This moisturiser sounds very much like Moogoo anti ageing face cream. It’s an Australian brand (Moogoo) and it is all made in Australia from 100% natural ingredients. I used to have oily, problem skin with pimples and blemishes and then I tried the oil face wash, rose hip oil and the anti ageing face cream. BEST THING I EVER DID.
So many people use those mainstream cleansers which strip the skin of its natural oils, making it dry so you then buy their moisturiser making them more money. It’s all a scam!
When I first started cleansing my face with oil I was sooooo against it, I thought it was gross and was going to break me out. I was SO wrong! In the first week my skin started soaking up all the oils and I even put rose hip oil all over my face at night to sleep in, after the oil cleanser.
I do not break out, I do not have redness, my skin has a beautiful glow everyday and I now have, not oily, not dry but completely normal, glowing skin.

If you ever want to try a new cleanser, despite yours working for you already, I recommend trying the Moogoo oil cleanser, the anti ageing face cream, rose hip oil and the 3 vitamins eye serum is fantastic as well!

    Ps. Love your blog!

Favourite products have to be the HD Concealer, very good coverage and so many shades. Taupe blush, it really is a pale girls dream contour and the only thing I’ll ever use to contour my nose but probably my favourite of all time is the lip liners. I use Nude Beige and Pale Pink religiously! They’re amazing! I’ll be making it my business to pick up EVER shade. Apparently they have over 60 shades!!

Also am quite in love with the dewy setting spray, a lot cheaper than my fix plus and does just as good a job! Fab giveaway!

I love the feel of the shimmery shades, one little rub and my brush picks up so much product, but the colours themselves are just not particularly pleasing and they make me look really washed out. Like a bit aunt sally, you know? Maybe it’s the Irish translucent skin!

I love the mattes from the Smashbox full exposure one. I’ve bought the Narsissist and this Lorac one since and it’s so ironic that the one available up the road in Arnotts is the most reached for. I hate to admit it, tbh!

I couldn’t find any other reviews that didn’t like it too. I thought it was me. I need the Smashbox palettes in my life

Matte black things are my absolute pet peeve when it comes to makeup or beauty, my Smashbox Full Exposure palette is as grubby as can be and it makes me not want to use it! The dryer sounds great, I hate styling my hair and it usually ends up in a ponytail or topknot.

Sharon it’s brilliant. Nars is the worst for the matte black and looking dirty

        Hi,

Just wondering has anyone experienced their hair extensions drying out? I have Gold Fever extensions and every time I was my hair I use the Great Lengths shampoo, a hydrating conditioner and the Kerastase Elixir oil on the ends. I try to avoid using heat, let my hair dry naturally and maybe straighten it once every two weeks. But the hair extensions have gone so coarse and knotty at the ends! I only have them in two months! Im going to but a treatment in over the weekend, hopefully that helps

Sinéad just one or two things that might help. You should always make sure to blow dry the bonds. never let them dry naturally as they will break down and won’t last as long. Aviod the GL shampoo its crap and leaves the hair dry. I use the keratase sulphate free and its brilliant. It leaves the hair really soft. Use heat on the hair. I do every day, but just make sure it is on a lower hear. if you’re using a treatment, avoid the bonds as again it will break them down
