I love the change in seasons, as with it brings a whole heap of new makeup releases. When you look to the red carpet and catwalks, it is easy to see there is a definite change in makeup trends this season. Gone are the heavily contoured cheekbones and overly made up eyes. Instead replaced by glowing bright looking skin, and subtle eye makeup and lashes. This change in trend is most definitely reflected in the Spring/ Summer releases from most of the major makeup brands.
I have gone through many of the new and up coming releases and picked out what will be on my shopping list.
Inglot HD Lip Tint
Oh Lord do I like the sound of these babies. Inglot really are on fire lately when it comes to new releases. Between their foundation/ contouring sticks and stardust collection for your eyes, they really have taken things up a serious notch or five.
The latest new release is the HD Lip Tints. These lip tints are a full coverage lip product that are said to be silky while at the same time drying to a matte finish. Oh be still my beating heart. I do love a good matte lip product. There will be 10 shades in the range which will include nudes, reds and even those much loved darker shades. Number 16 is really singing a sweet tune in my ear and will be on my lips once these bad boys come out. Price hasn’t been set yet, nor has the release date been finalised, but they are rumoured to be around the €22 mark and will be available at the end of February/ start of March time. Will this be on your shopping list?
Hourglass Ambient Strobe lighting powders.
I am a massive fan of the original ambient lighting powders and although they were saucy in price, I firmly believe they are worth every single cent. Now Hourglass have gone and stolen my heart again and made me have the ultimate wants!!! The new strobe lighting powders are four different shades of illuminating powders that can be used either wet or dry to give you various levels of intensity. The four shades include Incandescent (opalescent pearl), Iridescent(illuminating pink), Euphoric (pearly beige) and Brilliant (shimmering gold). They are applied the same way you would any other highlighter, but these are said to be more luminescent rather than a metallically highlight. While I do love a mega watt highlight, I really feel that these would be beautiful subtle for Spring and Summer. I haven’t got a price or date for the release yet, but they will be available on Space Nk soon.
Mac Flamingo Park collection
Mac have a fairly quick turnover of limited edition collections and while I let some of them skip past me, their new upcoming Flamingo Park collection needs to be on my face. Packed full of both subtle and eye popping pinks, the Flamingo Park collection is perfect for helping you recreate the beautifully flushed yet glowing looks from the red carpet and the runway.
It is the powder blushes and the more natural shade lipsticks and lip glosses that have really grabbed my attention. In particular the What I fancy blushers, the Fashion Flock lipstick and the playful petal lipgloss.
The full collection will be launching somewhere around the last week in January / First week in February. Just in time for pay day!!! ( Swatched pictures are from Trendmood Instagram, who I believe is showing them from www.makeupandbeautyblog.com )
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
Be still my beating heart. I mean just look at how beautiful this palette is. It would actually be a sin not to buy it. You all know my love for the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette, so the fact that they are releasing a new palette that is predominately warm shades, it just has to be in my life. Again there isn’t a release date yet, but going by the Too Faced Instagram account, it will be sometime in the late Spring. (Picture via Too Faced instagram)
Mac Contour and Sculpt yourself palette
Finally Mac are releasing their own contour palette and thankfully it is a powder palette, which will lend itself to nice understated sculpted cheekbones. Nobody wants to see a streak of dirty brown down the side of their face!!!
The palette contains contains the cult favourite shaping powder in Emphasise, the sculpting powder in the shade sculpt and four blushers. There are two blushers that are on the gold side, Trace Gold and Sunbasque and two that are on the pink side Peaches and Fleur Power.
I would have liked to see a range of sculpting shades because you’re fairly snookers if the sculpt shade doesn’t suit you, but in saying that the blushers and shaping powders are divine looking!!
This palette is currently available in the States for $60, so fingers crossed it will land this side of the pond soon.
Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay Lipsticks
Ok so technically these don’t tie into the light and glowing makeup trend for spring summer, but really they are too beautiful not to have on the wishlist. There are 8 shades in the range with a mixture of both colours and textures. The textures include cream, matte and sheer. They are currently available on the Urban Decay UK site for £16, so fingers crossed we will have them on Urban Decay counters soon. ( bottom image from Reallyrae.com)
Make Up For Ever Ultra Hd Concealer
Two people I trust 100% with their opinions are Wayne Goss and Jaclyn Hill and when both of them have included this concealer in their best of 2015, I know I need to have it in my life.
The Ultra HD concealer is said to act like a second skin and is suppose to be invisible, luminous and comfortable on the skin. It is also said to be fantastic for covering dark circles but due to the inclusion of Hyaluronic acid spheres, it is also not heavy on the skin. I really can’t wait to give this a go. It will be available in March for €25.
