Chill Insurance asked me “Do you prefer to stay in or go out during the winter months?” During the winter I barely budge from the couch. My routine consists of pyjamas, fluffy slippers and face masks! However, as soon as March hits, I begin to get an itch to become somewhat of a social butterfly again. I don’t know if it is the new brighter clothes hitting the shops or the new makeup releases that have me dying for a night out.
Spring time means a change in makeup, so for this collaboration I have picked out a few of my favourite item that are both new and old to get your makeup ready for a night out!
Stila Metal Glitter and Glow liquid eyeshadows
I am sure you’ve seen a lot of these across social media and blogs over the last few weeks, but there is one very simple reason for this. These liquid eyeshadows are nothing short of incredible!!! They really are like nothing I have ever tried before.
As the name suggests these liquid eyeshadows are more like a liquid glitter. However, unlike regular glitters these babies apply like a dream and don’t budge. They can be worn as a full coverage shadow, or you can apply them lightly to the eye over another shadow. I have the shade diamond dust and I wear that lightly over other shadows and in the inner corner of the eye.
You can buy them from Cult Beauty here and the next colours on my hit list are Kitten Karma, Rose Gold Retro and Bronzed bell!
Too Faced Sweet peach palette
I know this palette has been around for about a year now, but it has only recently become available again after being out of stock for months!
This is the perfect palette for Spring. Most of the year I tend to lean towards a lot of warm toned brick colours when it comes to eyeshadow. However, in the spring and summer I am all about peaches, oranges and lighter looks.
The Sweet Peach palette has 18 eyeshadows, which are a mix of mattes and shimmers. There is also a great mix of warm and cool toned shadows, so even if you’re not a lover of one, there is options. Even as someone who wouldn’t have a great grá for cool tones, I still use all the shadows in this palette.
You can create so many looks for both day and night with this palette! You can pick it up in Debenhams for €47. It seems to be sold out online again.
Nars Sheer Glow
During winter I tend to wear heavy foundation, but when it comes to Spring time, I still want coverage but I don’t want my foundation feeling heavy. Nars Sheer Glow is one of the most beautiful foundations I have ever used. It is long wearing, has high coverage and looks like a layer of silk on the skin. I am actually a little obsessed with it! Nars don’t tend to give samples, but if you can get them to apply it in Brown Thomas do because if it suits your skin, you will thank me a million times over. Nars can only be bought in Brown Thomas Grafton street or SpaceNK Grafton street which is a real pain. You can however, buy it online at Asos here. So once you have gotten your shade you can repurchase here.
Soleil Tan De Chanel
This is a seriously old school product, but if you’re looking for a natural cream contour for spring, this really is a beauty. I find that this is the perfect shade for a natural cream contoured look. It has a mouse like texture, that blends into the skin beautifully. It is very pigmented and I use a small brush like the Nima Terri brush to apply it. It comes in one universal shade and applies to a matte bronzer finish. It is a light shade and it is better to build the product then go in with loads and try to blend it out. It can be tricky to apply at first, but don’t give up on it. It is expensive at €35, but come on, it’s Chanel.
L’Oreal True Match Liquid Glow Illuminator
Spring time is all about the glow. I like to add a little bit of a liquid glow to my routine during the spring. I really like the L’Oreal True Match Liquid glow illuminators for adding a little bit of glow to the high points of my face. I also sometimes mix this in with my foundation, but the colour will darken your foundation slightly so be warned. You can get this liquid illuminator in Boots for €9.99 here
NYX butter Glosses
If I am heading out I tend to layer a gloss over my lipsticks during the Spring time, while I have a lot of high-end favourites, I do tend to reach for the NYX butter glosses again and again. These really are beautiful glosses that can be worn over lipsticks or on their own. They don’t feel heavy or sticky and they wear ok during the day. You can buy them from boots for €7 here .
