A few months back, I noticed by dark circles had gotten out of control and my eye area was looking puffy and tired a lot of the time. Sadly this goes hand in hand with thyroid problems, but as I am not one to take things lying down, I decided that I needed to take action and reduce the tired look around my eyes as much as possible. When contacted by Thalgo to see if I would like to try some of their products, I jumped at the chance as I had read a review by So Sue Me last year about the Collagen eye roll and I had considered buying it at the time, but the funds wouldn’t allow it. Story of my life!!
Thalgo is a french brand that makes marine based products for both men and woman. Most of their products are paraben free and contain no mineral oils or genetically modified organisms. While I am not someone who normally looks into the science of products, I like the fact that they use many natural ingredients as I am getting more and more careful about what I actually put onto my skin.
The Thalgo Collagen eye roll on comes in a plastic tube, with a roller ball head. The tube allows you to control the amount of product that comes out and it is hard to squeeze out too much product, thank god as I am a divil for that usually. The 3 balls on top help to disperse the product and offer a rather cooling effect to the eye area while massaging the product in. The top is also a good size and fits perfectly under the eye area.
I apply this every morning and most evenings. Let’s be honest, some times it is hard enough to take my makeup off before I go to bed, that eye cream can be forgotten. I apply it under my eyes and I bring a little bit up the sides too. I tend to tap the excess into the skin to help absorb easier.
The Thalgo Collagen eye roll is described as the ultimate weapon in eye puffiness and my god it really is. It really feels gorgeous under the eyes and it absolutely reduces puffiness and the look of tiredness.I really noticed a difference in how fresh and alert my eye area looked when I used this. It takes down the puffy tired look quite quickly and gives you a much more awake appearance. It is very moisturising, yet it isn’t oily and is absorbed into the skin really quickly.
I can’t say for sure if it has reduced my dark circles. My doctor recently told me that no matter what I use, I will always have dark circles and I just needed to suck it up and use good concealers, but I do think there is a slight reduction in how dark they are. If that is the eye cream or the fact I have been getting a good nights sleep I don’t know, but I would like to think it is a little bit of both. I have read a lot of reviews were people said they saw a huge reduction in their dark circles when using this, so maybe my dodgy thyroid is preventing the collagen eye roll on from doing its job properly.
As for fine lines and wrinkles, there really is no way of me telling if it worked for that, as I don’t have lines around my eyes, thank the sweet lord and my mothers good genes, but it can’t harm using this to slow down the appearance of the dreaded things.
So would I recommend the Thalgo Collagen eye roll on? Based on the reduction of puffiness and the tired look alone, absolutely. I just love how it makes my eye area look fresher and more awake. It absolutely takes down the puffy look around the eye, the fact it also helps with fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles is a bonus for me. I have been using this for around a month now and have found myself, at times , thinking just how much I liked it. I will absolutely repurchase this when I run out.
