Do you know the moment when you use a new product and from the very first minute it goes on your face, you know that you will never be without that product again? Well that happened to me the first time I used The Body Shop Vitamin E overnight serum in oil. It was absolutely love at first use.
Over the last few months I have really been working on my skin care regime, but I hadn’t found a night time product to suit both my skin and my budget. Since I was a teenager, The Body Shop has always been a staple in my house, be it shower gels or body creams, but I had never tried one of their face products before and my god have I been missing out.
The Body Shop have combined both a serum and oil into one product. I have used serums before but I have never even heard about, never mind used a combination of the two. This particular product contains a very high concentration of wheatgerm oil as well as sunflower, jojoba, marlua, sesame and soya oils and like all Body shop products they are sourced from fair trade farmers. Wheatgerm is one of natures highest sources of Vitamin E and incase you didn’t know ( as I actually didn’t know), Vitamin E is great for the skin as it’s an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin.
The Vitamin E overnight serum in oil, as the name suggests, is designed to be used at night. It comes with a little dropper on the top to easily dispense the correct amount into the palm of your hands. I only used a very small amount as too much can leave your skin feeling a little on the greasy side. To use, you apply a few drops to the palm of your hands and rub your palms together to warm up the product. Then apply it to your face and neck and massage it in, in small circular motions. One of my favourite things about this products was that it smells and feels so comforting on the skin. It smelt like an old friend and a little piece of luxury all rolled into one.
The Body shop claim that when used at night time you will wake up with skin that looks rested, replenished and re-charged and ladies this is in fact the case. My skin felt great. It was soft, plumped out and really looked like I had gotten a decent nights sleep.I couldn’t stop rubbing my cheeks as they were so super soft. From my very first night I felt the benefits of this serum in oil and it only got better as I continued to use it over the last few weeks.
I would highly recommend the Vitamin E overnight serum in oil. At €22 it is well priced and will last for ages. However, as Karen from Lovely Girlie bits mentioned, while it is very well priced at €22, our pals in the Uk can grab it for £12. In saying that, I liked it so much I would still pay the €22. I have heard it is selling really fast in all of The Body shop stores, so if you see it, don’t think twice and grab it while you can, because when you have skin gurus like Caroline Hirons recommending it you know that it will be in high demand.

February 23, 2014 at 8:20 pmLove this stuff and will pay the €22 when I’m finished it because it’s such a gorge product, but I’ll be giving them the squinty eye when handing over the cash ;P

November 6, 2015 at 10:42 amI wore it at night under my moisturiser. some times without. I think it has enough moisture in it that you can use it on its own
