Sometimes we get a chance to give or receive some really special items for Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I always find it hard thinking up bits when I am asked what I want for Christmas if the price tag is over €100. To help you narrow down your list, I have put together a guide that might help you. Be warned, some of these price tags are not for the faint hearted!!
Hollywood Mirror
Those of you that have been following me for a while, will know that I have one of these mirrors in my life. My parents actually bought it for me last Christmas and I swear to god, every single morning I wake up and use it, I still marvel at its beauty. It is on the expensive side at €278, but if you think about it, 2 strips of lights from Ikea will set you back €100, so it the grand scheme of things it isn’t that bad! I’ve been using mine a year now and I have lost no bulbs yet, but the mirror did come with some spares just in case.
The quality of the mirror is also excellent. It is a heavy wood high gloss finish. You can rest it on your table, or hang it on the wall as I have done. It comes with all the mounting brackets included. You can order it off Illuminated mirrors, but you need to ring them to get delivery to Ireland. If you ring them, delivery will only cost €10 and should be with you within a week.
Clarisonic
The Clarisonic is basically like a giant toothbrush for your face. It is a mechanical brush that cleanses and exfoliates your skin. The Cleansing system is said to cleanse 6 times more than your hands or any other manual cleansers can do. It does this by penetrating down to the deeper layers of your skin and removing all the dirt, bacteria and removing the dirt from trapped pores. It is said to improve the texture of your skin while at the same time, helping slow the anti agin process, by reducing fine lines and wrinkles. I have the mia 2, but there are now newer versions that you can buy including the Aria which would have an extra speed to the Mia 2. Personally I think the Mia 2 is perfect and it is a little cheaper at €149. You can order from Debenhams here and you can read a full review here.
Alexander Mc Queen Scarf
Not everyone is a beauty nut like myself and some instead would like a nice investment in a statement piece. The Alexander Mc Queen scarves in Brown Thomas just scream Luxury. While this might not be my ideal gift, as I would probably lose it within a week, I can think of many who would love this. You can pick them up here for €295.
The L’Oreal Steampod
If you follow me on snapchat (@thebeauttruth for those of you that don’t) you will know my pure and utter love for this little beauty. There are very few things that I am obsessed with in life, Feta Cheese and Becca champagne pop are on that obsessed list and now so too is the L’Oreal Steam pod. If you have hair that is any way long, or even thick and you like to wear it straight, then you 100% need to add this to your list. In fact this would be my top pick of 2015 for things to add to your Christmas list.
Basically it is a hair straightener that uses steam and heat to smooth and straighten your hair. It is different to the GHD because not only does it straighten quicker, but it leaves your hair smoother than I have ever experienced with the GHD and the straightness genuinely lasts until you wash your hair again. Because it works faster, you’re using less heat on your hair and it isn’t as damaging on the hair as other straighteners can be. I will have a full review and how to video up asap, once I can find my charger for my camera. However, all I can say is that the L’Oreal Steampod is absolutely brilliant. You can pick it up in Peter Marks for €180 or online here.
Jewellery
You can’t go wrong with a piece of nice jewellery. I find it so hard to find pieces that are real gold, but don’t cost a fortune. I nearly fell over when I walked into one Dublin Jewellers that lots of bloggers promote and saw that mad prices they were charging for dinky little things!!! Madness. However, Fields ( who I have no affiliation with) have a wide range of lovely pieces for reasonable prices. I love this 9Ct Gold infinity necklace for €179.50. You take a peek at all their Christmas gift offerings here.
HerClutterBox
This is such a brilliant present for someone who needs to store a lot of makeup, but doesn’t have a lot of space for storage. The HerClutterBox is a really sturdy makeup storage made from heavy duty plastic and metal casing. I have heard people compare these to the Home Store and more makeup storage, but trust me, there is absolutely no comparison between the two. The only thing they both have in common is that they store makeup. My advice, Buy Cheap, buy twice!! You can read a full review of my Clutterbox here or you can buy them here starting at €139.
GHD Air Hairdryer
I’ve been using my GHD hairdryer for a year now and I really love it. The dryer feels lighter than the traditional salon hairdryer, it comes with a salon length cable which I love, as it means I don’t have to stretch the cable to reach my plug. It also comes with two different size nozzles. I find the larger one is better for getting smoother hair. There are two heat and speed settings, which are said to give you more control on styling your hair. While at the same time helping you maintain the health and shine. I do find that the hottest setting is uber hot, and I tend to flick between the two settings. In saying that, when I dry my hair, it is so lovely and bouncy, and looks really healthy, that with a good heat protection spray, it is worth the little bit of extra heat. It also comes with a cool air shot button, to help your style to hold in place longer. This is one seriously powerful hairdryer and with power like that comes quick drying times. I can’t say enough good things about it. You can pick it upon Peter Marks for €109
NutriBullet
Looking to start a bit of a health kick in the new year? Then what better way to do it then sticking a NutriBullet on your list. I personally don’t have one of these, but I know so many bloggers rave about them. You can pick them up here for €109.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Essentials Limited Edition Christmas
The Advanced night repair serum is hands down one of my favourite face serums that I have ever used. I use to wear this at night all the time and it leaves the skin feeling plump, smooth, super soft and hydrated. Not only that but it is great for anti ageing. In this limited edition gift set you get the full 50ml size and a 7ml travel size for €86. You can buy this particular set in Brown Thomas.
