Under the radar products

DSC_3132The beauty world is a fickle place. Often there are products that receive a lot of attention and hype. Sometimes this attention and hype is justified and other times not so much. Then you have products, that perform like a dream and yet get little to no attention from the online beauty gurus and makeup fans. Under the radar products!

Under the radar products, does not mean under the radar brands. Very often there are popular brands that have hidden gems that people just don’t know about. For todays post, I have picked out a number of my favourite products that I use on a regular basis, that tend to go under the radar! Some are from well-known brands, while others are from brands that we tend to forget about.

Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion

DSC_2641It seems all I talk about are highlighters! I just can’t get enough of them. My latest find is the Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion in the shade gold. Those of you that have read the blog for a while now will know that I am a major Make Up For Ever fangirl. I love their stuff and their bronze fusion bronzer is one of my most used products. So it came as no surprise that I fell hard for the highlighter from the pro fusion range.

Screen Shot 2017-02-06 at 20.47.33I feel it is worth noting that at first, I did not get on all that well with this highlighter. You see the thing is, I feel you have to use it a few times to get to the good stuff. This is more than likely not the case, but I feel that you need to get through the top layer to get the most out of it! Now that I have, I just adore the glow that this gives. It literally melts into your skin and gives an incredible glow. You can buy it in Make Up For Clarendon street or from their online store here. Or Debenehams on Henry street now stock Make Up For Ever and you can buy it here for €37.

Art Deco Crystal Garden blusher

DSC_3139Art Deco is a brand that I very rarely see mentioned on blogs. I am honestly not sure why, as anything I have tried I found to be great! However, it was their Crystal Garden blusher that really grabbed my attention.

DSC_3141The Crystal Garden blusher is a 3 colour blusher, that work beautifully together. I swirl my brush all around the pan and mix all three colours together. I find that this blusher gives your cheeks and incredibly beautiful glow, that doesn’t look powdery and lasts all day. The packaging is also beautiful, as it comes is a lovely black compact with a Swarovski crystal embellish meant on the front. You can pick it up on Beauty bay for €33.50 here .

Seventeen Skin Wow concealer

DSC_0379I would use the term concealer lightly here, as while I find this good for cancelling out my dark circles, I find it way better as a highlighter for brightening underneath my eyes. It is a yellow toned concealer which I personally love for the under eye area and it’s thin texture makes it easy to blend out under the eye without caking and settling in fine lines. It comes in two shades fair and medium and I find the fair shade works great for me. This is another bargain at €6.99 and you can pick it up in Boots.

Hylamide HA Blur primer

Screen Shot 2017-02-06 at 20.51.26If you follow me on snapchat (@thebeauttruth), then you’re probably sick of hearing me talk about this primer. However, for me, this primer is nothing short of incredible. I find it literally sucks your foundation onto your face like glue.  Not only that but I find it makes your skin more of a smoother canvas on which to apply your foundation. I genuinely can’t sing high enough praises for this. The only downside being that I seemed to go through it faster than I would other primers. However, the fact that it doesn’t cost a fortune at €22.70, makes it a little easier to repurchase. You can buy it from Beauty Bay here.

Mac Studio Fix Perfecting Powder

DSC_1497Mac is most definitely not an under the radar brand, but for whatever reason, I haven’t heard anyone other than Makeup Monster talk about the Studio Fix perfecting powder! This is an absolutely beautiful loose setting powder with a sheer coverage matte finish.

DSC_1498Due to the fact that the powder comes out through a mesh cushion, it is incredibly finely milled and goes almost undetected on the skin. I find instead it not only sets your foundation, but also has an almost smoothing effect on the skin too. I would even go as far as saying it is like a blurring effect. I really have been loving this setting powder.

I am using the shade medium and while I would normally never use a medium, I find this works beautifully on my skin. I think the fact that you only use a tiny amount of product and lightly dust it over your skin, means that there isn’t a massive change to the colour of you foundation by adding the powder.  You can buy it from Brown Thomas for €26.50 here.

Jane Iredale So Bronze Bronzer

dsc_2946I promise, I will eventually stop raving about this bronzer! I’m just a little obsessed at the moment! Jane Iredale really is not a “sexy” brand. Yes I did just use the word sexy to describe a product! I am hanging my head in shame as I type! However, this is the most incredible bronzer. It is smooth, easy to blend, it melts into your skin and the colour is just perfect for Irish skin tones! You can read a full review here and you can buy it for the refill here for around €33

Maybelline Colour Sensation lipsticks

DSC_2710I love nothing more than a budget gem. I honestly haven’t heard anyone talk about these lipsticks and I really people should be shouting from the rooftops about them. They are incredible! They come in a few different finishes, but I have only tried two of the matte shades, with my favourite being nude embrace number 930. These are extremely comfortable long wearing mattes and the colour pay off is excellent. They cost €9.99 and you can get them on any Maybelline stand

Haha thanks for the shout out, the MAC powder is in my January Favourites post I just did and I was thinking as I was writing it, Sinead and I seem to be the only two aware of how deadly this powder is!! Love it so much and like you medium works for me even though I’m NW15 in their concealer!
