Urban Decay is not a brand that I find myself gravitating to often. I am not completely sure why I don’t give Urban Decay a look in that often, but there is an obvious lack of UD products in my rather large makeup collection. However, when Wayne Goss wrote about how the Urban Decay Naked Skin weightless concealer was a game changer, I knew I had to give it a go.
From time to time, I suffer with dark circles. Some days are better than others, but for the most part they drive me insane, and it is a constant struggle to keep them covered. I didn’t hold out much hope that the Naked Skin concealer would be able to combat these circles, as I have recently found that the only thing that worked, was a combination of 2-3 different concealers!! Boy was I wrong. This concealer is awesome!
The Urban Decay Naked Skin weightless complete coverage concealer is a full coverage concealer, with a seriously lightweight feeling to it. Often with full coverage concealers, they can feel heavy under the eye area. Well not with this baby. It honestly feels as the name suggests. Weightless!!
The consistency is very fluid, and you really only need the tinniest amount to get good coverage. It also sets pretty quickly and dries to a smooth matte finish. Some people say you don’t need a powder to set this, but if I am honest, no matter what the concealer, I always need to set it. If even just for peace of mind to know that it won’t budge throughout the day. I am still to find a fantastic setting powder, but for now I am using the Laura Mericer secret brightening powder, which is really great, but don’t get caught in a photo with a flash, as it will leave you with white marks under your eyes!! Once the Naked Skin concealer is set, it genuinely did not budge on me. There was no settling into fine lines, or wearing off. It really stayed put all day long.
There are 8 shades to choose from, and the lightest shade, fair neutral, is quite light so should suit even very pale skinned ladies. I bought, light warm, and while I initially thought it was going to be too dark, this is the perfect shade for both my Mac nc 25 and nc 30 foundations.
The coverage of this concealer is fantastic. Not only does it cover my dark circles, but it also adds a brightness to the under eye area. Like hello!!! A real highlight of this concealer for me, is that the coverage is buildable, without looking like you slapped on 5 layers of cement under your eyes. I apply three dots to my under eye area and pat in with my ring finger. For the most part this is enough to cover my dark circles, but on days when they are very dark, I let the first layer set and then repeat the three dots again.
The concealer is applied with a soft doe foot applicator, and is the perfect size for application around the eye. This is one area that many brands have gotten wrong in the past, as I often find applicators too chunky to use around the smaller parts of the eye.
Overall, the Urban Decay Naked Skin weightless complete coverage concealer is a real winner for me. I have found myself falling more and more in love with it everyday. It is too soon to say if it is a holy trial item, as I like to finish a product before deciding, but needless to say, this will be one product that I will use to the very last drop.
