When it comes to mascaras, I am very picky. When it comes to more high end mascaras I am incredibly picky. Money is too hard earned and far too easily spent, so when you’re splashing out on a mascara you want to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth. To get them most from a mascara, for me a mascara must give excellent length, while at the same time giving some volume.
W3ll people is a brand that I haven’t heard about before and to be honest, I didn’t hold out much hope when I heard it was an all natural brand. For the most part, natural mascaras don’t tend to tick the boxes for me when it comes to volume. I was under the impression that natural products didn’t pack the punch that mascara needs to get lift, volume and length .Boy was I wrong and I am so glad I gave this mascara a spin as it has wormed it’s way into my heart.
W3ll people is the brainchild of a former founding creative consultants for NARS cosmetics. It is an all natural line of beauty products, that is completely paraben and other nasties free. I personally don’t normally pay a whole heap of attention to the ingredients in my makeup, but it is nice to know that what I am putting nears my eyes, doesn’t contain harmful chemicals.
The wand on the expressionist mascara is a little different from the wands that I normally use. This wand has more of a plastic head, rather than the bristly head I find myself leaning towards normally, but this wand is really fantastic. I got great length and volume and the curl that the wand created in the lash lasted all day! I loved the length that I got using the wiggle and twirl technique. If you’re not sure of that technique, place the wand at the base of the lash wiggle it a little and then twirl it as you move it up the lash and keep building your lashes with lots of layers. This gives the best impact and great length and volume. It also stops the formation of the dreaded spider leg lashes.
I found that my lashes held their shape throughout the day, and there was no smudging or flaking. As a contact lens wearer this is really important, as flaky mascaras can really irritate my eyes. I have so many mascaras in my drawer that get one or two tries and end up bugging me all day, so don’t see the light of day again, but this mascara has been pulled out almost every single day since I received it about a month ago. The only downside to the mascara is the white packaging, as it does tend to get a little dirty from my grubby hands, but that is a very small issue.
If you’re in the market for a new mascara and had never contemplated going the natural route, give the W3ll people Experionsist mascara a go. I really love it. I find that my eyes don’t feel as naked without lashes when I wear this as there is lots of length and volume.
