W7 Hollywood Bronze and Glow

DSC_4602Who doesn’t love a bronzed, contoured glow. Wait I can go one better. Who doesn’t love a bronzed, contoured glow with a budget friendly price tag. Well say hello to the beauty that is the W7 Hollywood bronze and glow.

DSC_4605The W7 contouring and highlight palette is the latest from this budget brand to hit the market. The bronzer highlighter due comes in a lightweight plastic palette, which is easy to store and due to it’s slim body, it fits into my handbag perfectly. The packaging is a little cheap looking, but let’s be honest, it’s not a deal breaker.

The bronzer itself is a real beauty. I have to say this bronzer really surprised me. I honestly didn’t hold out much hope for it, but I have been quite taken by how good it actually is. It has a beautifully warm undertone to it, but looks really natural on the skin. In fact it is probably one of the most natural bronzers I have tried. It gives the appearance of a cheekbone shadow on your skin, rather than a bronzed glow, making it perfect for contouring.

DSC_4604The bronzer isn’t extremely pigmented, but to be honest, I like that. It means you can build up your contour to you’re desired look. Far too often I see girls with a ridiculously large amount of product applied, as the product they are using is far too pigmented and they haven’t blended it properly. I have been that girl on more than one occasion. The utter shame of it. The W7 bronzer allows for you to make a mistake or two and yet still get a beautifully subtle contoured look.

The highlighter is a little on the chunky side. I personally prefer my highlighters to be a bit more finely milled . In saying that, been though it is a little chunky, it does give a lovely glow to the skin.

IMG_7730I found that throughout the day the bronzer lasted really well, but the highlighter not so much. The highlighter faded a lot as the day progressed but my contour was still there. If you’re going out at night, I wouldn’t say wear would be an issue, as to be fair, I do have quite long days.

The W7 Hollywood bronze and glow has been touted as a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow and there is no denying it looks very similar, but I feel I need to address the issue of dupes. A dupe is only a dupe if it looks AND performs the same way. Far too often I see bloggers post about dupes, when I know full well the products that they are posting about are nothing alike except in colour or appearance . It drives me insane!! While I personally don’t own the Charlotte Tilbury palette, I have had it applied a few times. While the colours are similar to that of the W7, they don’t perform the same way, the Charlotte Tilbury lasts longer on the skin and is a lot more finely milled and subtle . However, for the price point the W7 Hollywood bronze and glow is a good cheaper alternative.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend the W7 Hollywood bronze and glow. I’ve throughly enjoyed using it and for €3.75 it wold be rude not to give it a try!! You can buy it from many pharmacies or online here from Cara Pharmacy.

That does look VERY similar to the Charlotte Tilbury one for about a twentieth of the price! I’ll defo keep an eye out for it now on your recommendation 😉 And HOLLA for bringing up this issue of bloggers posting “dupes” of products that are no more dupe than chalk is to cheese, very annoying and very misleading >:(

It does look similar to the CT, but as you and I and countless others know – similar is NOT THE SAME. That is why I have 11 lipsticks that all look the same in the bullet but are completely different on the lips. I can tell you that by looking at the highlighter on you it’s not a dupe. The highlighter in the CT palette is more on par with The Balm ones, it’s a sheen not a shine and W7 seems to be a shine. Same as all their Naked palette dupes – NOT DUPES. Just quite nice affordable palettes for people who don’t have the Naked ones. In saying all that I love a good subtle contour shade so if I saw this I probably would pick it up for comparison or for the bronzer. Great review!

I have the CT bronze and glow and I’ve never been more in love with a product, that being said the price is ridiculous for it; even looking at the pictures of the w7 you can see the differences and thanks for bringing up the point about bloggers and dupes I just think people are too quick to say you’re silly for buying an expensive product when you can get an “exact” copy for way less when that is simply not the case.
